Swings and roundabouts. Nobody complained when the Wire player dropped the ball and threw his hands in he air for a (given) penalty.

watch it again you`ll see those decisions were correct....again the better team won deal with it

| Goldy as passionate as he is needs to keep his gob shout abusing officials..swearing at them? It aint captain material. Im 1 of Goldys biggest fans...but seriously Grit your teeth.. challenge the ref in the correct manner, go to your team mates and discuss the decision and lead by example in the next part of play. Im not saying it cost us the game.. but if our captain is getting sin binned what leadership is out there?

As to the last point, it's called a 'charge down' and is perfectly legal - play on. Refs make mistakes in all games - God knows we've had plenty this year - so you have to play on regardless. Wire were the better team overall, apart from the first twenty minutes, and deserved to win.

| overall it was not a classic match, cas were not great, neither was warrington, but ben thaler was a disgrace to the game. he let far too much go over the 80 minutes and far too much went in warringtons favour. they did not have to try hard because he made it easy for them, made sure that cas did not get further on top after going 8 nil up. the way thaler went about it there was only going to be one winner and it was not going to be cas. what took place in the last 10 minutes proved it, trailing by 16 points, down to twelve men, we suddenly get 5 penalties on the bounce. the man was a joke.

We have about 7000 hard core fans, no idea where 2000 of them were last night. Very disappointed with our turn out, more disappointed with the wire turn out.
Looks to me saturday night on tv is a no no for the fans, to easy to sit in a pub with a pint and watch the game from there.

We can all quote reasons (plenty of away games recently, Barcelona etc.) but I think your last line pretty much hits the nail on the head. In the current financial climate it is far easier to stay at home watching it on Sky, that's what I did. Nowadays it isn't as easy to justify match tickets and high fuel costs to travel to away games when the game is live on TV.

Because i remember seasons gone by when the railway end was packed with you lot and the drummer boy making some right noise.
I thought wire had a good amount of travelling fans, maybe the finacial climate is affecting us all.

The big challenge for clubs at the moment is to keep their home support.
Just thought as well actually, around 3,500 Wire fans this week have been out and bought tickets for a match that wont be used for 8 weeks (the semi final - sorry, not trying to rub it in!), so maybe many just couldn't justify doubling their spend on RL this week. Hopefully it was this rather than a lack of interest.

| Think a few things made this attendance a poor 1. Both teams just played in a QF, wire fans just been out and bought thier SF tickets, the expensive trip to scotland wasnt that long ago and with the fianancial meltdown affecting most of us, people losing thier jobs, people strugling to find thier jobs, and yeah before the wakie trolls come along thats effects more than just people in cas. all this and the game was on sky to top it off.
Even tho IMO this was Cas' and Wires' biggest SL of the season due to the table postioning, but the money cost is starting to take a bite.
Disapionting crowd but for some it might be pay the rent, get some shopping and watch it on TV or goto the game, doesnt make them bad fans or socalled airchair fans, just some are struggling.
ar well thats mine 2 pennys worth....and yeah before wakie trolls come....my last 2 pennys

Granted the Wire turnout was pathetic, but ours was worse. I fear yet another false dawn at Cas. Do we ask too much wanting a competitive team Top 6 and we get the missing 2000 back overnight so we need to turn it around, simple as that-----not that easy though

First 2 points spot on, but for the 3rd, what can I say
Goldy is a classy centre who has found himself mainly at fullback, joining the line on virtually every occasion, basically doing too much
He is no captain, and as I said after last week he is too one paced in the attacking line. As a team we need to change the pace of our attack, not much chance of that happening when Goldy directs so much of it.
Sarg for captain as far as i'm concerned, gets stuck in, gets bashed about, and doesn't lose his rag--good temperament, and currently our best import along with Rangi, by a country mile

| At the moment McGoldrick is the most experienced player that will be on the pitch for the full 80 minutes(at least in theory) so it makes sense that he would be captain.
