Welcome to the NEW RLFANS.COM. After twenty-five years of service, the old site expired over the last few days. To maintain service we have had no option but to make an early switch to the new site which was in development/testing. Some elements of the new site are unfinished, such as; page numbering and quotations. We will fix these minor issues as soon as we can, please bear with us. If you are having problems logging in, please try a different browser or platform, if problems persist then email support@rlfans.com
I think that Owen certainly is the last of the silly contracts that was handed out,and if the figure i have heard are true then it certainly is a silly contract
Word is that Owen had a fall out with Powell due to his lack of appearances despite his try scoring exploits when he did play but Powell indicated that Owen was free to move out if he wished (he obviously wants him off the wage bill where he can then spend the money elsewhere), but Owen stated that he had 2 years to run and wouldn't be leaving permanently and would sit tight and take the money
I can't blame him really with the contract he is supposedly on and one which he will never in a month of Sundays get at any other club
The only resolution imo is that he will accept a settlement figure and move on
Quote="duke street 10"Is Owen the last of the silly contracts dished out by R.W?.
I think Owen will do well at Wakey...just hope it doesn't start on Sunday

It will be interesting if WTW keep him beyond this season. I heard last year that he was considering a total career change and a job offer away from RL altogether into something he loves dearly - a hobby that we all know about (and no - not christmas related in any way).
