We all get very involved and passionate about the club, however I totally agree that abuse is not the way to take matters forward.
The protests however are an entirely different matter!! If waht we are seeing takign place at the club now doesn't jutify protests, then I expect that there never will be a justifiable occasion.
The fans are entitled to express their feelings and show that we can see through the pathetic excuses which TM and RW keep offering us time after time. It is quite insulting to us that they must feel that we can't see through these excuses.....and do note that it may be regarded as a 'reason' when it first happens, however when they fail to correct these problems it turns into an 'excuse'!! The clubs isn't paying these two clown good money for them to keep fobbing us off with excuses, which they seem to be causing!
It seems to me that we have a weaker squad than last year, or at least certainly not stronger. Most of the teams around us in the play offs have recruited much better than us or are playing to their potential aka Bradford and Warrington to name a few. We are currently struggling to put anywhere near our starting 17 on the park. We have suffered a series of defeats which have dented the teams confidence.
Most people were predicting that we would finish around 10th or 11th this year, I think we will still finish around 10th or 11th this year, once we have somewhere near our starting 17 to pick from, we have won a game or two and some confidence starts to return we will become more competitive again. What did you think finishing 10th or 11th was going to look like? Winning every week? That would see us finishing in the play off's, and as most people agreed at the beggining of the season it didnt look like we had a good enough or big enough squad to do that this year.
I've been watching Cas for 20+ years and this is not the worst Cas team that I have seen, also we cant be relegated this year so there is no need to panic. I do think that we have far too many players who would'nt get a contract from another super league club and as such arent good enough. No amount of coaching is going to turn some of them into super league quality. Yes this year is not going to be much fun, we are not going to get anywhere near winning anything, but as players return and confidence rises, we will get more competitive and we will see some entertaining matches.
I think there are far too many people with completely unrealistic ideas about what we can achieve this season. Take a breath and have a look at the facts, it isnt the end of the world, what we need to do is to dramatically improve our recruitment next season. Give ourselves a chance of making the top eight and everyone will be happy again, simples.
Is this is the start of the club preparing the ground for, and distancing themselves from, our increasingly likely expulsion from SL. I'm sure by the time our license application gets the thumbs down the BOD/CEO will have found a way to blame someone else for all the failed criteria. They're even dodging the issue of our lamentable playing record by saying 'victories have been hard to come by' (as if they are a rare commodity only available to a fortunate few rather than something achievable by those who plan well, work hard and spend wisely).
