well now I've come round after one of the most bizarre games of rugby I have ever seen in my life... here goes!



We conceded 60.. and naturally fans of who I consider to be our closest rivals (others teams may dispute that after sunday) are wringing their hands and smelling blood..... BUT, and I know this sounds daft, but would could have and should have won!!

Leyther Matt will attest to the 20 mins of rugby that brought the score from 16-44 to 40-44 and sheffield were blowing out of their @r_ses! A score then would have done sheffield. BUT, Sam gets a ball steal when Fev had made yet another break down field. They go up the other end and score.

At 50-40 I honestly didn't think we were out of it, but then interceptions no4&5 led to 2 more tries and we had screwed ourselves over.

A good tonking now and again serves to strengthen the soul. Lets get Saturday out of the way (cos to me it's a distraction - one we'll make a few bob from but a distraction nontheless), and then we can get focussed on the job in hand.





Rumours of Fev's Death Have Been Greatly Exaggerated (Twain. M. New York Journal).

I'd say we were pretty motivated when we played you off the park in the playoffs last season. Yes we were poor against you earlier in the season, but we've 8 out of 9 games so far this season, I'm not overly worried.

I guess you were due to get the better of us at some point in an important game, may as well do it in a season where we had no chance of winning the main prize.

You wouldn't have thought that reading this forum before the game, I won't dig up the match thread to embarrass you too much but I seem to recall you all being VERY confident and ending up with a severe amount of egg on your faces! And Barlow's two fingered salute rounded it all off!

Old news, move on ESO...you were easily the best team that day and the tonking was well deserved but im sure there isnt a Fax fan who cares right now.

Its a bizarre scoreline, how many times can you score 40 points and still lose? Especially by a 20pt margin



Remember our game there a few years back, finished something like 78-38, difference there was that was the last regular season game and playoff places were cemented, nothing to play for.



Can't help but think Fev may, uncharacteristically taken an eye off the main game and be looking ahead to the Cas fixture next week, but with Cas's record in the Cup the past few years (Golden Point victory against us and knocked out by Barrow) Fev really do have a good chance

I think you could be right. A big game that everyone wants to play in so might not commit to the tackle as much for fear of getting injured maybe?

The scoreline reminds me of the 64-40 (I think) win at Fev a few years ago. As I walked out a Fev fan in a car winded his window down and said "I wish we could afford to bribe a ref". Strange that he didn't think that his team's defending might have been a major factor in the result.

How times have changed for them now ! Where do they find the money for Crookesy ? Players all signed in well before that they must have been up to their budget & cap limits.

They're sending Clare Balding all the way out to Featherstone to do a piece on the deprivation that exists there. Hopefully the horrific pictures will pull on the heartstrings of the British public.

It was 44-64 that one, a weird game but it was the end of the season and both clubs had nothing to play for, unlike the Fev v Sheffield match. Still surprised even with the Cas cup game looming for Fev.

lets hope fev are more focused this week and beat cas.

Cheers, lets hope so! Freak of a game, but very enjoyable in a weird way. Only seen a few games like this in the past.



The start of the league campaign is pretty exciting, with you guys unbeaten, but we've seen close results & shock results.



Whoever wins this years campaign has really earned it.
