I had in mind the incoming Salford lad in Dixon as well which may be different regarding wages with it being a loan deal.



Not only is RM looking for just another player, or players, in this case a second row but a quality player who will give us something different to what we have and the lad chose to come here instead of other clubs.

Now that is good enough for me.

We have set a very nice precedent for the agents of our players. Sign for Halifax, then if Leigh, Bradford or London offer a contract later we can always get a release.

Assuming he didnt give the club the first option to sign him (as he was on loan with us), this would seem a bit disrespectful.

TBF he was only contracted to us for an initial month which has probably expired anyway.His contract at Leigh is fulltime for 2 years so it was a no-brainer.Seems a long time since we were able to pinch Leigh's best players(Rowley/Baldwin etc.)

Well he's got a full time deal which he wouldn't get with us so seems a reasonable deal, he was only with us for a month anyway. More spending at Leigh, that salary must be massive.

Richard Beaumont has retired due to injury which has freed up some money for Dixon.

Cant really blame the lad as people have said. Call me ignorant though but if he signed on a 3 year deal at the end of 2012 that would take him to the end of this season coming wouldnt it? Also if his contract had come to an end woulndt he have been with us on trial rather than loan? If it were a loan then are clubs now allowed to terminate the loan in the first month? Just a few things that dont make sense but all in all pretty irrelevant because I guess Salford could just tear up his contract with the players consent there by terminating any loan and he would be free to sign for Leigh.



With Divorty and Manning already shoe ins for the 2nd row spots I were struggling to see where he fit in to be honest where as Leigh are not too cracky for second rowers making him a certain starter for them.

Mr Hall, you are right in your statement about Fax pinching players from Leigh , remember you also poached our Coach Steve Sam's before taking Rowley and Baldwin, and then stole Stu Dollar off us and tried to get Mickey Higham at the same time but he preferred to go to Saints.I have said many times in the past I like Fax but a deal with Leigh looks far more attractive, but never mind Dixon will return to the Shay very soon,2nd game of the season, be afraid.

Goulden Sarsfield Haggerty Beaumont were our SR's. Goulden had an op last August he is coming back from, great game v Wigan on Sunday though. Sarsfield needs an op after pre season injury, Haggerty missed last week and Beaumont has retired through injury. Goulden/Haggerty would be my starters from that lot but Wilkes filled in Sunday as Haggerty was out. Have a great kid coming through in Tracey who has really filled out close season. This is a solid squad buy in a position we suddenly had no depth in

If you say it long enough you may start to believe it. Not perfect but very solid at LSV, great crowd on Sunday, sold out corporate, huge shirt sponsorship increase, huge ST increase and £400k more from the RFL - we've had worse times

I've heard it all before. I don't think there's any solid RL club except for Leeds and maybe Saints. But, we'll see where we all are in three years. It's an unknown territory we are all in these days. May the sensible clubs stay afloat! Good luck.
