| A company becomes aware of a winding up petition when it is served at the company's registered office. The company has seven business days to respond before the petition is advertised in the London Gazette.
I imagine the club are aware of it, as the caseboard suggests the club are litigants in person. So the club must have advised that they will be representing themselves, without legal representation.

| I wasn't aware that Gazette notices are posted 7 days after the company is made aware, but this would make sense.
Not sure about the caseboard as never seen that before, but if as Bubba suggests the "Litigant in Person" line says the club have responded then god only knows.
One interesting thing, which I mentioned on Facebook is that there are 2 companies, Halifax Rugby League Football Club Limited, And Halifax RLFC (Trading) Ltd. So who knows what is been put up against what company and why? The Trading entity I believe is the "club" as we know it and the other business is "dormant". Again I don't understand the ins and outs of this.

| There are a lot of people on social media that are still defending the club saying they may not have known about it. Just a point on that, it is very, very rare that HMRC make a mistake over things like this so there is a decent chance that either the club know they have not kept up to any payment plans or payments due to HMRC or the club are simply not aware that they have missed a payment. The former is not great but we know the club are in massive trouble and the latter is even worse as it just highlights what a mess the club is. Fingers crossed this is some sort of admin error on behalf of HMRC but given the situation at the club its hard to see and its more than likely HMRC are just wanting to speed up the inevitable and put the club out of its misery.

| It's an absolute mess right now, we were told in September that the outstanding HMRC bill was settled, but nothing further. Was that correct or was it just a portion of what was owed?
No update was given on how much money was needed to see the year out, and the club cannot be expected to, however if they are asking for people to donate or loan money then perhaps transparency on the situation should be asked for.
Everything has gone quite, the updates of how many memberships have been sold have dried up. the season ticket launch came and went with little follow up. News of a coach and re-signings are none existent too. So who know's what is happening right now.

| It looks bleak, Brew. Communication is always key and it needs full disclosure - out of fairness to the supporters - rather than just getting the begging bowl out each time. How much debt; when is it due; what is the projected income? I.e. is there a realistic chance of getting through the current troubles? Sometimes you have to take the pain, to be able to grow in the long-term, rather than just papering over the cracks. But until there is full disclosure, those who matter most, the supporters, are left guessing which can be hugely damaging.

There is another company called PK 2022 Limited also associated with the club. Only Bannister and Uttley are directors of that one

| I've mentioned before that Kenny's reason for resigning just didn't make sense ......... "it became clear that the overall direction the club wishes to take did not align with Lee’s own vision."
So I'm assuming he was out voted by the other 2 BOD members regarding this "vision", but neither Bannister or Uttley have stepped up to be chairman or explained the vision. As I say, it doesn't make sense.
There'll be some very angry people out there who have donated lots of money to save the club, just to see it a complete waste if the company still winds up.

PK 2022 Ltd i believe was set up before the takeover by the current board went ahead. Again what it's continued existence is for is now a mystery.

| If the remaining BOD or the recently departed knew that the funds raised would be insufficient to meet the debts ( which have never been detailed or explained other than the HMRC first debt) then there could have been fraudulent activity.
If the BOD knew that they were trading insolvently then there could have been fraudulent activity.
I believe we have well meaning individuals as BOD’s who have failed miserably, the question is have they gone over the “mark” and acted illegally?
I may be wrong but I don’t think there is anyone around willing to dig them out the financial hole, but there are some who would start a “newco” if debts were nil, so I don’t see Rugby being lost, merely yet another restart and a low level existence.

Its standard practice when a group of individuals are buying an existing company.

| Well, the ING gradings are out and we had a hair's breadth of total ridicule where Salford could have been relegated despite finishing 4th. Now that really would have put the proverbial cat amongst the proverbial pigeons.
Only skimmed down our own ratings. The usual bollox. And space is required for FIFTY press members? Please tell me they're having a laugh. It turns my stomach and I'm embarrassed for the sport of Rugby League, I really am. As for the finance section, well it goes to show what a load of tosh all that is. Virtually ALL the clubs should be scoring zero because they're bloody well insolvent!!!!!!!
