Kieran Moss is a loan player and in the squad, but agree that it's odd that Macauley Davies doesn't feature in the 19.

He was down to play in this weeks reserve game that was cancelled.

RM did say he wanted him to have a run out with them first, no doubt if they can get a reserve game and he shows up he will get a start or a bench place at some point.

For now he must just be sticking with who he knows.

he's here to add competition for places and by the looks of things he's more long term than the initial loan suggests (should he prove his worth in training etc). Would assume he'll feature against barrow if anything in order to give Grady a rest before the 3 grand finals.

That's the point, I don't think it's a case of "dropping" anyone. Despite winning at a canter, we looked pretty shot at the end of the Swinton game, which may have been a knock-on effect of the effort at Leigh the week before? It's just a case of rotating some players when they're not fully fit and/or feeling the effects of the previous encounter. If and when we have suitable players available of course.

Sion Jones needs to get some game time and he’s done well every time he’s played and would be ahead of Davies at this point in time imho.

Maybe see SJ in the final 17 and possibly JWH for Barber to keep the squad rotating without risking much?

Marshall does seem to have an obsession with back rowers. As Jones is finding out you have to be pretty good to get a starting place in our pack.

Yep, and it doesn’t help anyone especially the coach and players with the state of the reserve set up.

How some of these lads remain motivated, fit and ready to play beats me and that’s another problem within the many now within the game.

We can't be thinking Barrow is a place where we can afford to rest players. I agree with giving Sion Jones game time though, he has been excellent when chosen.

I think his last couple of games he played his performance points were lower than other players and unfortunatley for him the players in his spot have been performing well since then so its probably been difficult for Marshall to give him game time. If he keeps working hard though and does not take his bat and ball home then he will have a big future for us and possibly SL. It didn't harm Butler been in and out and his hard work is paying off now.

Thought Swinton was a golden opportunity missed to have Jones on the bench and give him the second 40 . Wonder if he will try him at prop tomorrow because we look a bit weak there for tomorrow IMO without maher or green who I thought helped us get the upper hand over at mount unpleasant . Wonder if batley no 12 (farrell? Any relation to the ex fax coach? will target Scott again because he got 2 tries by the tactic last time. Thanks I thought he had a similarity particularly the power in his legs.i must admit I actually had to think hard to remember the coach we had .

The club has never had trouble attracting local sponsors but has often had trouble keeping them. Its sad sometimes looking around the stands and seeing like 30k in old sponsorship still coming to the games but no longer willing to be involved in that way.

What a great game by the lads today. Every member played their part today still having trouble understanding how the linesman didn’t see the swinging arm on Johno. Well done lads. Let’s do the same to Barrow next week then get the very important win against Fev.
