Very pleased with this signing. But why have Hull KR released him? He's been a recent regular playing on the wing (or from the bench) even though Quinlan is their first choice full back.

This from Hull KR's website answers my question:



"Hull Kingston Rovers outside back Kieren Moss has joined Betfred Championship side Halifax RLFC on loan for the rest of the 2018 season.

Moss linked up with the Robins from Bradford Bulls at the start of last year and went on to score 17 tries in 24 appearances for the club, but has spent much of the 2018 campaign at partner club York City Knights.

With game time expected to be limited, Moss has joined Halifax for the rest of the season but will not be allowed to play against Rovers should the two clubs meet in the Super 8’s Qualifiers.

Head coach Tim Sheens said: “Kieren has played most of the year up at York and his attitude there has been exemplary, but this represents a chance for him to play more regularly at a higher level in the Championship and he joins Halifax with our best wishes for the future.

“I see Kieren primarily being a full back but Adam Quinlan is our first choice in that position and has been consistently our best player this season. Will Dagger has performed really well at full back as well and is a huge talent for the future who will be given some opportunities.

“With our options on the wing also being strong with Will Oakes back from injury and Elliot Wallis now pushing through, we felt Kieren’s game time with us would continue to be limited and therefore a loan move to Halifax suited all parties.”

Not on contract so no SL clause. On loan so remains a HKR player. I believe there is no recall clause either.

What is encouraging is that we feel to be looking wider for players .In recent years we have concentrated too much on players available from a single agent Dave peet . I don't know why the old management did that but we now appear to have cut the ties and signings of the quality of Qlt and Kieran moss can only be good news for the club . Well done LS28 keep up the good work. I didn't think we would be signing such quality this year. Anyone know how the lad who we signed in the off season is getting on with his rehab .....Harry Kidd ? It would be nice to hear from the club if he is on the mend .

Interview with Harry Kidd on social media recently. Advised he is slightly ahead of schedule but still looking August earliest.

I thought he were the only agent we used.

Brilliant signing for you. I still maintain he's too good for the championship. He's a natural full back and probably the best support player I've seen since Mcguire.



Never got a fair run at Hull KR IMO and when he did get a game, they played him on the wing which isn't his best position. One of them players you just love to watch play.

gutted have him back at bulls in a breath...

Moss is a very good player.

I wouldn't have him back tho, McNally and Pickersgill are 2 very good FBs.
