There's been a lot of contrasting opinions on the board following the game on Thursday, and I think we were were still in it until that interception try. They were simply too big for us to handle, the amount of off-loads just killed us.



I don't think you can fault the lads for effort, but too many of them were off their game on Thursday and in play-off footy you just can't get away with that. Beswick's kick from the penalty was absolutely crazy when the game was so tight, and Penky is being asked to play a role that he just doesn't suit and he's getting slammed for it.



For me we've got too many players who play 'off the cuff' - it was easy for Black, Penky, Beswick and Gleeson when we were on top form earlier in the season and the gaps were there. When the going gets tough, we don't have a player, like amJamie Rooney, with a bit of football nouse who can take us round the field and stop the team turning into a set of headless chickens with no idea. Need to start making the right decisions under pressure and keeping it tight rather than trying to score with every play.

I think we all agree on this, Jaffro, and I'm sure the coaching staff realise this as well, who will put it right for next season. Matt Calland is on a learning curve too, and IF Penky is still playing scrum half next June, then I really will start to have doubts, but until then I'm behind the coach and the lads are putting in the effort ... onwards and upwards

good posts folks.I've been saying all season we desperately need a proper stand off.Calland/Halls biggest mistake was not replacing Moore when he went back to Leeds - we do not have a kicking game and we do not have a boring game.All the sides that have done well can change things around if things are not going to plan , we seem unable to do so.A steady type of player at 6 would compliment Black , just look at Holly last year - how many tries did he create with his kicking , how many times did he just relieve pressure with his kicking etc.

Like other posters i am sure Calland is aware of the problem.My only gripe with him is the lack on continuity of selection One game its Penky and Black , then its Beswick and Black , then its Govin and Black.

I do feel for Penky , he is getting so much abuse , I do think he is probably trying too hard - being captain and playing out of position is affecting his game - he is a 9 and a nine only.

Hopefully Branigan if he comes will sort out the problem

I dont think Penky is getting a load of abuse. Most people just state the fact he's not a 6 or 7, a fact he's probably aware of himself.
