Looking at a Blackberry for an upgrade this year. Notice that some haven't got 3G; how would I browse the internet without this if i'm not in a WiFi zone?



Any other tips on which Blackberry to go for?

You don't need 3G to browse the internet, unless you want to stream video and the like - I generally have 3G switched off to save battery life.

Had a gander at the new Sony Ericsson Experia Arc, pretty cool phone, nice screen and camera,slim and running Android Gingerbread 2.3.2

Think I have narrowed it down to with either a Blackberry Curve 8520 or Curve 9300.



Anyone got one? Good or bad?

If its a Blackberry your after get the 9700 Bold, miles better than the too efforts you mentioned.

I have the 9300 3G Curve and am very impressed so far. Miles faster than my old 8900 Curve even in 2G mode, much more reliable and about double the battery life for the same usage.

Ive got the 8520 well impressed with it better signal on vodafone than orange but once WIFI is on brilliant

I know, but out of my price range which is why I quoted the two I did.

Has anyone got a HTC Hero/G2?



I like the look of the phone.



What do people think of them?

Had one on my last contract. Decent phone but it is a bit slow compared to newer phones, especially after updates.

I want a HTC but dont really want to spend that much, i.e. Desire HD.

How much is the original Desire these days? It really is a vast improvement on the Hero.

Im not sure, there are so many HTC phones.



I have had a look at the Wildfire, but then people say you may as well get an Orange San Francisco phone.

My Vodafone contact end on Sunday and have just started looking for a new phone and contract. I've seen an offer from Talk Mobile - 500 mins, 1500 texts and unlimited data, with a free HTC Desire S for £25 a month - what's the catch? I hadn't heard of them until a Carphone Warehouse radio ad two days ago.

I have a HTC Hero.In the settings menu there is an "un- highlighted" option for Internet Sharing (share phones mobile internet with PC). Now I've been told this can be unlocked by rooting the phone ,but I don't want to do that.

Are there any reasonably priced phones which have this on as standard.I know the Desire HD has it ,but it's too expensive for me.

I just bought one, seems ok to me but i'm novice, both my lads reckon its decent for the money. Tesco knock it out for £99 and a £10 rolling monthy sim.



Chucked in some clubcard vouchers and got it for £68.

I ordered a Blackberry 9800 with Telus (Canadian Provider) for $9.99 on a 3 year term (Yes, unfortunatly 3 year terms are common here)

Canada is pretty far behind on cell phones but this is pretty good for whats avaliable

I'm not sure whether I should be posting here or the Tech thread, but so be it. I am looking for a GPS app for Blackberry, specifically one that can tell me distance covered, time average speed and altitude. Any reccomendations out there?

Try Endomondo, i use it on my HTC for biking etc.

I would like a full report please as i think that'll be my next phone!

I've been using the HTC desire HD for a few months now, that phone will take some beating.(Mrs Graftons upgrade, she said i could use it as my nokia N97 shared a pint with me

and she's happy with her I-phone

Lucky you. Mrs Grafton must be deluded. My Desire went for a swim in the toilet. £65 later and its running as good as ever. So if its worth it, send the N97 there and get it flogged?
