| Quote Sal Paradise="Sal Paradise"There is no guarantee we will not be in recession if we stay in the EU - like it or not we voted to leave so what do the politicians do - just ignore the vote?
The Tories spending seems reasonable - they have to do something, continued austerity is not a vote winner but their numbers are at least believable - £250bn on a green initiative is quite simply lunacy.'"
The politicians shouldn't just ignore the vote but, when such stanch Tory remainers such as yourself, acknowledge that we could indeed be heading for a Brexit triggered recession, perhaps there is a stronger case than ever for asking whether, people would like to be worse off but, out of the EU or remain as they are and remain ?
At least we know that Farage and Boris have something in common, they are both compulsive liars.
No public election pact but, Farage has already broken his promise to "contest every seat" - I wonder what he will be doing after the election.
Mmm interesting ??
He has a habit of standing down after every election so, probably a nice cushy job in Boris's back office - no nepotism here though

There is no indication that the public view has changed - I would agree with another vote if it were no deal against remain and everything was out in the open.
All politicians are liars and that includes Corbyn and McDonald. You know as soon as they open their lips they are tells lies. When was the last time you ever heard a politician answer a question directly
Farage is an odious individual - he now realises that standing against the Tories leaves the backdoor open and if it closes behind him it will not open in his lifetime.

| Donald Trump told Farage and Johnson not to stand against each other, today they confirmed they will follow Trump’s orders.
Vote conservative, get a Donald Trump puppet, this means, lower food standards, lower welfare standard, chlorinated chicken, and more privatised healthcare.

For every snowflake there seems to be at least one xenophobe
However, snowflake or not, I do believe that Trump did suggest this and even now, the Brexit - Con Alliance (do you like the name ) is gathering momentum and it would appear that Farage may be playing quite a clever game.
By only agreeing to step back from current Tory held seats, Farage could well end up holding the balance of power, which isn't great for anyone.
More extreme than Boris and happy to do whatever Trump wants, what do you think our futures will actually look like- Better or worse than we currently have ?
You'll be telling us next that there was no cyber attack on Labour HQ and that they are all "lefty snowflakes"

Some people are no longer capable of recognising the truth, which sadly helps the likes of Trump and Boris.
I did have to chuckle at the Tory representative on the daily politics program, trying to justify the Tory calculations of Labours spending plans and then squirming in her seat as the host suggested that the same formula be used to calculate the Tory spending pledges.
It seems like the current Tory lying mantra trickles all the way down to the foot soldiers.
Labour really need to come out fighting and get into their ribs.
I'm also curious as to how Farage is getting so much air time and yet The Libdems get somewhat less, despite having the greater number of MP's
Despite having a number of MEP's, the Brexit Party currently have zero Parliamentary MP's and yet Farage's ugly mug is all over the news every .day

Grow up
There is no way any leader of the free world would endorse Corbyn - Trump or otherwise
Outsourcing of NHS to private is 7% it was 6% under Labour - fake news
Lowering food standards - doesn't mean we have to buy their food - it will not be compulsory you know.
We want access to the EU without paying anything for it doesn't mean we are going to get it - same goes for the US - the trade deals the US did with Canada and Australia both excluded their health sectors - all US drug firms have access to the NHS now. All this talk was a study done by 3 academics which calculated if the spending/person on drugs matched the US then spending would rise by £500m/week - there is no where in the world where spending on drugs is as high as the states - so why would it automatically happen here - again fake news

| Well, having had "Chicken Johnson" a few weeks ago, it seems that this too is contagious.
Despite priding themselves on being the party best able to control the public purse strings, it seems like Johnsons right hand man, Sajid Javed, is now unwilling to go head to head with John McDonnel to debate each of the main party's spending plans.
Having created a fake headline of "Labours £1.2 trillion spending spree", which has now been proven to be a totally made up figure and with Tories allowing their own spending plan to be "costed" through the same mechanism. Javid has bottled the planned live debate.
To quote Led Zeppelin "lying, cheating, hurting, that's all you seem to do".
I dont like Corbyn but, when it comes to honesty, he's a very long way in front of this shower.
The Tories cant tell you what their spending will cost but, they are happy to completely fabricate figures for their opponents and then try and tell people that these numbers are correct.
Maybe our current chancellor cant add up, which you would have thought was a pre requisite for the job that he's been given.

Horatio Javid?
He needs to be back defending our shores against them trillions of economic migrants fleeing over here to take our jobs, occupy our social housing, exploit our NHS and benefits system, and eating all our carp.

I do worry about his grasp of basic Mathematics.
Having shipped out the long serving moderate Tories, we are now left with a bunch of incompetent compulsive liars, very much in the mould of their leader.
It's up to the rest of us to call them out.
If this wasn't such an important election, which will be pivotal in our kids futures, it would be quite amusing but, this is serious.

| It's quite interesting that during this period of purdah, mainstream media types are finally calling out Tory lies - because they are legally obliged to provide balance; on that basis, the tone of many news programmes has changed, and the fundamental dishonesty of the Tory offer is actually being exposed. If they behaved like this *all* the time, to *all* politicians, the tone of our political discourse would change very quickly.

One thing that does puzzle me is, that despite this being a Westminster Election and that the Brexit Party has no MP's, Farage seems to get a hell of a lot of publicity. You could be forgiven for thinking that someone at BBC HQ has some kind of personal agenda ?

Nobody knows as yet what each party will spend - Labour have committed to £450bn before any cost of re-nationalisation. All the Tories have done is take every pledge since 2017 and add them up. It is the same as Labour saying a deal with the US will cost £500m a week in extra cost of medicines.
Corbyn is suggesting McDonald's workers need to be paid £15 hour - so if you scale that up across the whole UK workforce how much will that cost!!
I would be very surprised if the Tories spending is not fully costed in their manifesto - if not its a huge mistake.
My concern is to Corbyn/McDonald/Lansman this is just a huge experiment and bit of a project

Virtually everyone at the BBC voted to remain - suggest the only agenda is to discredit Farage and the leave vote.

Interesting reply, Sal.
I'm not arguing with what the Tories have done and that this STORY was dutifully slapped on the front page of every right leaning journal.
The issue is that, when asked if we could apply the same criteria to calculate Tory spending, they said NO, because it wouldn't be right to put a figure on their own spending before their manifesto was published (which will be just 2 weeks before the election).
If it is wrong to apply THE SAME criteria to their spending plans, it must be equally wrong to use that criteria (and then some) in the first instance.
I was ok with the wild calculation on one side, but they had to then use the same means to "test" their own mounting spending pledges.
The fact that the few Tory politicians that have been questioned about this have wiggled and writhed about like a freshly landed Haddock, I think, tells you how they have been found out (again). Lies, lies and more damn lies.
Much as Labour's "grand plan" will be hugely expensive, it would be prudent to wait and see just how much of their plan is to be considered for this Parliament, dont you think ?
