Quote ="Mild Rover"I’m not sure that is a full or fair reflection of the political, cultural and social status of Northern Ireland (or the North of Ireland as some would have it). It’s much more about nationalism (and good old sovereignty) than it is religion. Although I admit that they’re closely intertwined historically.
It’s hard to say that the partition of Ireland has been a success. Sorry Unionist community… it’s okay to support something that isn’t successful - I’m a Hull KR fan after all!
Bigger picture, Brexit is done and Big Dog is (nearly) gone… this should be put to bed. If Truss tries to use it to whip people up, I think it’ll fall flat with the looming cost of living crisis and everything being a bit poop. On the other hand, I’m not sure what else she’s got. Might have a look…'"
Sunak would be a better candidate but he has no chance now - so we are stuck with a big dog defender. Time will tell but I am not holding my breath. The only saving grace is the equal lack of quality in the labour party and the increasing power grabbing attitude of the unions.
