You can only ask the same people so many times, I'll speak to one of my mates today and see if he's been asked, although think last time he sponsored the matchball they came to him on the Friday!

Exactly, Brew! My rugby buddy is really licking off about the booking fee (do other clubs charge it?) and is refusing to pay it, so there's another lost ticket sale. And with my own reluctance to pay over £20, we've decided to go to the pub on Sunday, look at the line up at 2 o'clock and if Hurrell is included might pop along to watch. But most likely another 2 empty spaces in the South Stand due to the club's bad management.
I also agree about the lack of card paying facilities on the day. Quite ridiculous! Not only are less and less folk carrying cash, but it's also less painful tapping your card than handing over a 20 quid note (plus 2 pound coins  )

AM I RIGHT? I'M NOT WRONG!

And this is it, I'll decide on the day, but if I decide sunday morning to go to the pub, I'm going over to Wakefield, so then rugby isn't happening.

That said, I've not checked if I can get a cheap ticket yet. That may swing things

Yeah most of the time it will be the same answer but they should have a large database of previous sponsors and it should be the first port of call for the club. I know people who didnt even get the courtesy of been asked if they wanted to continue with their sponsorship from the previous season. We have gone from having a commercial side that was the envy of every single club in the Championship to selling match packages in the week leading up to a game. Im sure we will hear some excuses as to why this is the case shortly.

You’re not arsed about supporting the club you just want a cheap ticket. Happy to go to the pub and spend £20 £30 on beer then come on here and slag the club off for not doing enough to get people through the gates.
It cost a lot of money to run the club and it’s the supports who help with that by attending matches.

I look at the value for money of my day out, I probably got half my tickets last year through a community club, as do most of the people stood around me. I'd possibly spend £20 or £30 on Beer whether I went to the game or not. It's my money, I earn it and will spend it as I wish.

I was at the Thatto Heath game, one of about 700 who bothered, and I went to Sheffield, I missed the Catalan game because I was on holiday although also had a football match that afternoon so would likely have gone there.

I don't disagree that it costs a lot of money to run the club, so you'd think the commercial side of things would be better. Rather than trying to sell the match sponsorship in the week leading up to the game. I think we all know disgruntled former sponsors who either haven't been asked to renew, or have seen the packages they've had previously sold to others sometimes for less money.

Greg Florimos Boots wrote:Did you just blame Covid and the war in Ukraine for whoever is running the commercial side of Fax not been able to sell out match packages? That has to be one of the strangest takes Ive heard in a while.

Couldn't Fax do what previous people selling packages have done like phoning, emailing, visiting previous sponsors and trying to get them interested again? I know this hasn't happened, or if it has its on a really small scale, because none of my group of friends have been contacted in any way. Maybe its too much effort to spend a little time trying to bring thousands of pounds in to the club? Lets not just accept medicoracy.

No i didn't even use the word BLAME and obviously I wasn't just talking about match day packages,I pointed out that there's a bigger picture and bigger reasons why everything has gone up and why everything is not selling out and a couple of the major reason why it had that aren't connected with or only affecting Fax's commercial department and fan base.

Not everything is someones fault although I accept that some think it is and find it strange to think in any other way.

Everything will have someone who complains about it, it's just that a few will complain about everything.

I'm sure we'll here some excuses for the reasons for their sad personalities shortly. :D

Since when did you become the judge of what is mediocre and what isn't and are you perfect?

On match day packages the club are offering them privately and through social media as an open invitation to anyone interested.
Almost everyone with any interest in the club use these platforms, don't you and your mates and all know about them about them but how many have taken them up?

You recently knocked the club for mentioning the minimum number of supporters required to break even, as if this was wrong when every club past and present is acutely aware of the importance of attendances.

Now to claim that Fax aren't trying to get people to come to games has to be one of the strangest things I've heard ever to be honest.

As with everything else to be able to sell it people would want to buy it and it's obvious that some are now choosing not to, and some, without knowing the reasons are choosing to BLAME the club when someone does so.

On admission options there are currently season tickets, early in the week tickets with a small saving, cash on the day or card at the ticket office and as above some will choose one of them or none of them.

That's your choice and perfectly entitled to it but are you claiming that when everything's not to your liking it's wrong and someones to blame?

When you say privately how do you mean? As mentioned previously, I know lots of ex-sponsors who have not been contacted. You can't just bang a post on social media and expect people to be all over it, maybe this is why they have ended up trying to sell packages in the week leading up to games.

You can say this is me moaning but it is also me showing concern at what is happening at the club I have supported all my life. Its business 101 FFS.

Nail on the head. I'd get it to some extent if the club was being run by volunteers but it isn't.
