Hill and Mago looked good.
Field and French looked off timing wise.
Nsemba showed glimpses and so did Byrne and Dupree.
Great try the second try was a really soft one to concede.
All in all a good hit out and I’m sure we will be better for it going into the cup game then Cas.
Leeds were very much like us in their approach to the game, just grind out the sets hunt the errors. Much improved pack on last year.
Connor and Newman and their petulance will cost them a few quick play the balls as the refs are already wise to their moaning and antics as they mess about in the ruck.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

Sivo could be a big blow for Leeds. Didn't look good going off.
I think most of your first team played the first half with several more playing in the second half. We also had some kids on that second half but admittedly the rest of them coming on towards the last 15 minutes. For you I though Nsemba was very good along with Mago. Marshall probably the pick of your backs first half. For us I thought Holroyd when he came on and Oledzki ran hard. God knows why Sivo was trying to close down French for that kick that resulted in him going off. Doesn`t look good for him imo. As a Leeds fan I`m really pleased with that performance compared to the dross last year.

I think it was evident that Leeds has taken a positive step forward under Brad Arthur. Your defence is far more robust and your line speed has definitely improved, something that needed to happen if you want to dine at the top table. The game was effectively over at halftime, I can only assume that your coach wanted to get more minutes into the legs of your senior players hence the reason why they played most of the game. Wigan on the other hand tend to give our senior professionals forty minutes, take the performance related information away and amend personal training plans.Timing of both teams was, not surprisingly, not great hence the reason for a dour match. After saying that the weather didn’t help. I think the takeaway is it was a physical game and, apart from Sivo, no serious looking injuries. Do you know what the problem was? Whatever, I wish him a speedy recovery.

Yes really pleased how we looked to toughen up compared to the powder puff so called passive defence introduced by Smith. I tipped Wigan to win the lot last year and they again will be the team to beat. I wouldn`t be surprised if Sivo has done his ACL which is a massive blow for us as he was just what we needed on the wing. Hope I`m wrong.
Good hit out, I expect Leeds to improve massively under a proper coach like Arthur.
Result/performance wise we need to understand the Leeds have been in preseaon since November and a lot played on Boxing Day.
14 our of GF team only reported at Wigan in the first week of Jan.
We’ll be much improved after the Tenerife camp next week.
Happy for Ash whose a great player

Not altogether sure what point you're trying to make but the majority got at least 20 mins as you only started making significant changes after the hour mark. Farrimond came on before half time so got slightly longer and Eckersley started the match. As I said, the young lads got good minutes against your first team which will have done them good.
Anyway, hope Sivo is better than it looked at the match.
Sivo fell into the trap like many do and saw French might be an easy target to smash but a little bit of footwork got him out of the way and Sivo’s probably done himself a lot of damage.
Edit: just seen the news. Terrible for him, flying over here to start a new life and then that happens.

Confirmed that Sivo will miss the full season. That is devastating for Leeds and the player. I'm struggling to think of that happening to an overseas signing since us with Luke Davico, when he went down in a friendly at Salford.

Luke Davico is who I thought of straightaway. Absolutely gutting for Leeds fans and even for the rest of us, as he is a player who had the potential to be box-office. Wishing him all the best and I hope he makes a full recovery.
