Interested to find out what his new opportunity is. I get the feeling it must be something exciting for him to step away from Wigan and playing Rugby League. Chuffed for him in that respect. He's given his all to the club and deserves to walk away on his terms.

Yes, as fans, many of us probably don't think too much about what the players are going to do post playing days. Most are early 30s when they retire and still got best part of 30 years working life left, as most (if not all) aren't going to be able to retire off what they earn
i know he's probably not retired how he wanted, but if the opportunity to secure his future is too good to turn down, you cant knock the guy for that and looking after himself and his family

We could not have asked or expected anything more than we got from Willie. I wish he could have signed off his career on the pitch, but I am glad he has got something that sounds like it should be really good for him. He has certainly earned it and he will be fondly remembered. I am sure we will see him back at the Brick from time to time.

It's certainly sad but Isa signing off from the field waving to the crowd, with his foot facing the wrong way sums up the guy. Tough as nails but always humble.

Consummate professional and a top guy. The opportunity may allow him to spend more time with his partner?

Good luck to him, sounds like it must be a great opportunity to make him want to move away.
I agree with this comment, some players help instil professionalism in the younger players,

I believe that it is a really good job in women's football and has come up sooner than expected. Coupled with Wigan wanting to clear some cap for a new signing, it is good timing and deemed to be the best decision.

I wondered if it may be something in the women's game, with his links through his partner and his love of Liverpool. I've seen him on the Liverpool fan TV channel a couple of times, so guess it would be an interesting job for him in football somewhere.
