Recently this site has got far worse. There are adverts all over it that i'm having to battle with to view the posts, they come at you from the bottom and right hand side of the screen and the banners at the top seem to be getting bigger too. I've noticed it on the work computer (unable to install an ad-blocker) and my phone. I know it says 'go ad free' at the top but I don't think there are enough updates to warrant paying for the content on here, possibly because many are put off from using it due the battle with the adverts in the first place.

Are there any other RL forums that people use? I'm on the FB groups and want to keep in the loop but i'm losing the will with this site.

I've taken a screenshot and done some maths, the area not covered by adverts when I posted this thread was about 20%.

at the end of march we move away from the current advertiser into a more relaxed advertising structure.

We have actually removed the left hand advert already to make it easier, but until the end of March we are a bit stuck.

using an adblocker means the site will die.

It will die twice as fast with all the ads monopolising the screen. It was too much that I also changed to Duck duck go to block them.

A couple is manageable and if relevant even useful, but it was annoying.

I'm sure it's no consolation but we have the same problem on Cas Forum . We started getting an influx of adverts around the end of Oct 2024 . It can be really frustrating at times , but without them I guess there's a chace the forums couldn't continue .

You’ve got to find a happy medium don’t you. When I’m trying to post and get whisked off to an advert thread for no reason it’s very frustrating.

The adverts use JS to mess with your viewing, we have no control over that as it is all front end related, it is all part of the reasons we are moving away and have more control.

It annoys the hell out of me too.
