I’m going to break my silence on this one. Batch and Carter had fallen out in a big way after Carter offered him less for his next contract than he was currently on. Their relationship, if that’s what you call it, had broken down beyond repair and Batch was not going to sign a contract at Wakefield while ever Carter was still involved. I’m sure the higher value contract at HKR helped his decision and I’m also sure he saw a move as a way of securing his Superleague career but the catalyst for him leaving was the breakdown in relations and what Batch felt was disrespect from MC.

And some people keep attacking the actions by our then CEO without Knowing all the facts .All I can say is very pleased he was there for us and think the proof is in the way Bell View looks now .And if he was as bad as some fans make out ,how come the R L ask him to go on the panel to sort Salford out

Didn't you say that someone in the know told you there isn't much difference in salaries? You can't have it both ways.
At the end of the day Carter offered him what he thought he deserved and Batch disagreed. It's how things work. Without knowing the details its hard to say whether Carter was right or wrong, but he had to balance the books so couldn't just pay anything.

That was the problem Carter appointed himself to the post of football director in charge of player retention and new player selection and negotiations even though he was completely unsuitable for the post. He alienated agents who whether you like them or not are part of the game. He was an advisor for the RFL because of his experience of reducing a club’s overheads. It’s not too difficult reduce the biggest expenditure wages. He did it with us but eventually replacing our better players with cheaper alternatives result in seasons of ineptitude and at some point relegation. I doubt any of you would believe we would be back in SL if we had continued with Carter in charge. I know he finally started the East Stand but how many of the subsequent planning applications were to reduce the original concept due to financial restraints. It was left to our new owner to complete what the old regime were never going to do.

I did say that, yes, and a fairly reputable one too, and has been at the helm of his club for about 27-28 years or so, and the club have had a lot of duccess.
While I do agree with what he said, I get your point, but offering a lower deal. Imagine walkimg into an appraisal/salary review, after working your backside off, to be told your salary is reducing. Not surprised he told Carter where to go.
I also get your point with balancing the books, but he wasnt balancing them, when throwing money elsewhere on players. He would have got better value offering more to him, than the players I previously mentioned.
In my eyes, he got that one very wrong and reading Scarlets post, which I agree with, its not the only thing he got wrong.
So glad we are now in better hands and players are wanting to stay

Will you give it a rest and stop being so chuffin needy, you’ve been harping on about this for years and no one cares. So you fell out with Carter, big deal, get over yourself.

It was you who appeared to be so needy to be in the orbit of those in charge which I am sure this was taken advantage of but he can’t trouble you anymore. You are now free of his influence and it is no longer necessary to defend them. I know old habits die hard but give it a go because I am sure someone no longer cares about you.
