I'm no fan of social media but it illustrates the importance of exposure like this when you see that the news of the award received almost a quarter of a million impressions on Twitter.

Congratulations to Wigan, a great achievement, thoroughly deserved and great for the Sport.

They have raised the bar on and off the pitch and it's up to the rest of us to catch up.

I was more pleased for the sport than the club itself. We wouldn't swap any of the trophies we've won for it but it's good exposure for the game. Until we sort out the International game (just look at the nominees for the main individual award that were all mainly based on achievements for their country) I don't think we'll get the cut through we desire but it's a start.

Usually take a break during the off season but wanted to come on to say congrats! Fantastic achievement and great for the sport.
Will make it even sweeter when we knock you off that perch
