Not sure how this will help Salford in the short-term because income streams will only kick in during the playing season. They could possibly argue that the severe cuts do not have to be so severe, but it will depend on how realistic those income stream will be. They may still have to sell players before the season starts.

So Condon is officially released due to an accident having an impact on his health. Hope he is ok.

And we sign Alec Tuitavake as a direct replacement for Amone.

"He will act as a replacement for Tom Amone and Tuitavake revealed that he spoke to the former Leyther before his move to the club.

“When my manager rang me and said Leigh Leopards had made me an offer it was one of the clubs that I had my eye on," he said. “I’ve followed Tom’s journey at Leigh, and I spoke to him before I signed. He told me how good it was at Leigh and made me want to take that step. Playing under Adrian Lam was another big factor in my decision."

Speed and youth certainly seems to be a focus for 2025 with the latest signing Alec Tuitavake fitting that exact mood.
As the next phase of the 5 year plan I like the direction.
We will need to give the team 4-6 games to set as the younger players settle in, but it bodes well for the second half of the season and then beyond.

First game was in 1967, and have been hooked since day 1. Now live in Vancouver, Canada but follow our team any way I can.

I agree VL. I suspect it was the plan but it has been brought forward at greater speed by the number of high profile departures, some of whom were clearly unexpected.

I also like the way that we are going but I am worried that it may take quite a bit longer than 4-6 games for the team to come together. The squad is undergoing a major overhaul, more than the club intended, and one key position at half back is still unfilled - less than 2 months away from the start of the new season. For this reason I am worried at this stage that it could be a season of pain and mid-table mediocrity.

My mood could very easily be lifted by further signing announcements but at this point optimism is in short supply. I just think that without evidence to the contrary that we all have to be a little realistic and and rein in expectation but hope that we will all be pleasantly surprised.

Mid table mediocrity? There's only 12 teams in the competition. 'Mid table' is top 6!

Jeez there is a few half full glasses on this thread, top 6 and top 8 aims? The squad will be at max cap and maybe even 3 marque players anything outside the top 6 is a disaster. You dont attract people like Davey Armstrong to finish 8th.. hes a game changer at the highest level. Most of the signings are young hungry players who are determined to get back to the NRL just like Kai and Tom. Pre season trip to Lanza will get the squad settled with targets set and those targets defo wont be mid table. The added speed in the team will be our biggest game changer in 2025. Strap yourselves in its going to be a good one!!

I hope you're right, but there will be a number of clubs with max cap and 3 marquee contracts, it doesn't guarantee anything. We have 5 players moving over from Australia, and without the luxury of developing for one season in the second tier like Amone and O'Donnell had.

A lot will depend on how good the new forwards are, because we've lost a lot of quality in the pack, and how quickly the new players settle and gel.

If 2025 proves to be a year of transition, and we secure the retentions that we want to, I'd be more than willing to cut them some slack.

Depends on the next few Signings for me as it stands we are definitely short in a few areas specifically halfback and back row.
