I’d go Thewlis at FB and CTW on the wing. CTW would like Ashton have more attacking opportunities on the wing. It seems to look more balanced that way to me. The pace out right if we had Lindop and CTW could be something.

You could say the same about Dufty then as he and CTW have similar characteristics and skill sets. You want your best attacking players to get their hands on the ball as much as possible IMO, so full back is CTW’s position for me as things stand.

I would hope Luke Thomas will step up. John Kear said " he doesn't have a handbrake", and from what I have seen he has the controlled aggression and determination to succeed. Hopefully the coaches will be adding the black art of the prop to his skill set and we will see him making the bench in the coming year.
Returning to the discussion on FB position, I think Thewliss has a fantastic attitude and puts his neck on the line at every game. But.... I don't think he is a winger. Its tough when you have someone of the quality of Matty Ashton on the other wing because inevitably you are drawn to make a comparison, but I don't think he is quite fast enough and all too often he steps left to avoid the cover rather than go for the corner. I am wondering if perhaps Taylor Wray could develop into a HB. I have certainly seen him join the attack and make long miss out passes to the flanks and of course he is an elusive runner. That's a long way from playing HB of course.
