Tarkers - change the title to 2026, the change is for that season. From today clubs can approach players out of contract at the end of 2025 for the following season.

We'll probably have the 1 quota spot next year, I imagine Cartwright will want to use recruiting oversees, looking at super league there's not a great deal available next year, I hope we're looking at the following:
Josh Simm George Lawler Sam Halsall Morgan Gannon James McDonnall Mikolaj Oledjski Joe Batchelor Toby King Connor Wrench Liam Byrne Matt Whitley
I've left out the likes of Lees, Knowles, Farrell etc... as the likelihood of them leaving St's and Wigan will be near enough nil, but it looks like a lot of clubs will be fishing in a very small pond domestically next season, shows the importance of giving your youth a chance.

What we need is a couple of young players from the next batch ready to play SL, if say Moy and Westerman are ready to play SL regularly in 2026, that's our backs pretty much sorted.
If we can add Sutton for this year and bring in some like Byrne and Batchelor. The likes of Charles, Kirby, Wainhouse getting stronger and ready to play 10 plus games a season.
I think would continue to improve amd aim for the top 6.

The tamper deadline makes no difference. Agents have always touted their players around pre the deadline anyway.
One are we've neglected for a long time is the lower leagues. I'd like to see us making more effort and trying to bring a couple of decent t championship prospects in

Would be surprised, as it stands, if Balmforth is still with us. Coaching staff not overly impressed with his engine. Sat him down and told him the 9 needs to be the fittest in the team, and he's way off. Andy last kept up with him in some training drills last week

That must be the fourth coaching set up which hasn't seen much in him.
As much as we bang on about being too sentimental, I would like to see him given a new deal, if fitness is his downfall then surely it's something that can be worked on?

If the kid has spent the off season losing a stack of weight and getting fitter but still not up to the level required as a pro sportsman, maybe his body just isn't capable of being fit enough. Not everyone has the engine of a player like houghton
