In addition to the injury to Fizgibbon, and poor discipline from senior players, (one in particular), we were very very close. I think we ought not to have been anywhere near the top 4 in reflection.
So how many of these new signings do you think will be starred, technically wasted cap money?
Anything less than 5 starred players in the new recruitment would see us technically stronger, no? I get 3 (*)
So with Fitzgibbon and Hayes fixed, only 3(*) players possibly being dead wood on the cap, the now seasoned academy lads from 2024… Is this not a huge improvement upon last season in depth, if at least not the starting 13?
I would say, we must be bankers for the LLS and making a GF.

Indeed, if we had concentrated on the Wigan game at home and won it (we lost by 1 point), or maybe just made our conversions, we would have won the LLS with a home game against Leigh or St Helens then the Grand Final....
I hope we never rest a team for a CC match, at the expense of the league game, ever again.
