It actually looked like a meaningful session with a mix of disciplines which is a good start. In the past we've seen a mix of not touching a ball till Christmas, easing our way in, not overdoing the fitness side so we can peak at the right time and a whole host of everything in between. Also great to see him hands on, at the end of the day he's our most experienced coach by far and needs to be on the training pitch and getting his style and culture into them from the off. I hate seeing coaches stood back with their assistant 30 metres away wrapped in tracksuit and bench coat watching wistfully from a distance. Players respond far better to hands on management as in most lines of work. Really pleased Lasty is there and think he'll learn a lot more which can only aid his development. I do genuinely see Grix as surplus to requirements now. Can see him taking a championship job when a decent one comes up. Any sign of Ellis?

Out of interest, there's a young lad I keep seeing on the posts but I'm not sure who he is. Was on the bikes with the forwards yesterday so I'm guessing he's a forward. Half sleeve on 1 arm. Terrible haircut. On the video of the lads walking out to train this morning he's in front of Herman. Does anybody know?

Thank you. Not a name I've heard mentioned much, if at all, but if he's training with the first team he must have shown some good stuff. Looks to have a decent frame for still a young lad.

Balmforth certainly looks to be in very good shape and has clearly put a lot of effort in to getting in better shape between the end of the season and start of pre season. Also looks like Adbul has done a lot of work on getting in to shape too so for me that looks to be a good omen in terms of attitude.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

All sounds good.
Fitness, attitude and discipline all require major improvement for next season. Hopefully, the players have realised that.
