Craig Harrison has stitched us up with plenty of duds recently. We've moved a few of his clients on in the past 12/18 months. He's an agent who has taken advantage of a naive CEO and owner.
Walker, Sutcliffe, Trueman, Tindall are all his players. No coincidence he was bigging the club up when Clarke was here, now he's left and Myler is moving on his high earning and underperforming players he's spat his dummy out in the media.
But we will be keeping them unless someone matches the wages they’re on.
I’m not saying I disagree with what they’re doing but it’s easy for fans to say stuff like ‘it’s about time we was ruthless with players’ when as someone has already pointed out there’s always a fine line when it comes to agents and reputation amongst players. FWIW I think Harrison still talks well about Hull whenever I’ve heard him speak and represents the likes of Lewis Martin.

My thoughts echo what a lot of others are saying. Tough on the players but the right call by the club. It was hard to see where they fit into the new look squad. Walker aside, they aren't really the standard we need to be aiming for, and the thing that counts against Walker is his injury record.

Have you listened to that House of league pod he was on? Was just a massive dummy spit from him

Well this is the sort of stuff that has to go on if we are to have the best first team squad possible after the standards of recruitment have been allowed to slip so drastically over the past couple of seasons. Myler and Cartwright are trying to cobble together the strongest squad they can from the players who would entertain coming to such a run down club as we have become. I don't think they have done too badly on that score. It's a start and there are a lot of winners at the club now at least. Well they are winners at present anyway!!!
Walker has got a deal of quality in him, can break the line and has a good footballing brain but they have obviously decided that his ability is not the issue but it is his inability to stay on the field for any length of time.., for me that's the sad one, but after watching closely the frequency of injuries he has sustained and the nature of those injuries he is quite frankly injury prone simple as. For me as well Morgan Smith has tried hard and looked to show some loyalty to the cause, but he is a Championship level player, while Tindall bless him isn't even good enough to challenge our two rookie wingers who eclipsed him last season. But when he was offered a contract who can blame him for signing it??
For the last 24 months or so we have, lets face it been a 'rest home' for these sort of players who, if they were honest, knew their short comings but were able to survive because of the ineptitude of the coaching staff and the attitude and lack of accountability of many of their colleagues, with contracts offered to them who wouldn't be tempted to do what they have.
I understand all three players have known about this for some time and the fact they are to remain around the club training etc when obviously there is no place for them in the first team squad (something that has been made clear to them), is I understand down to the way they have accepted the situation they find themselves in.
While no obvious British quality middle is available they will continue to keep fit and use the facilities at the club and lets face it teams like Oldham and London are actively searching out such talent at present. However, to give Cartwright the best possible chance, I'm sure should a possible recruit suddenly become available then we will be paying some or all of these players off. Perhaps that's what they and their agent are waiting for. Either way I think this is a sign that the club are prepared to be ruthless in trying to restructure our team, but at the same time understanding of situations that have been beyond certain players control. It also saves us laying compensation payments out , but Lets face it its not their fault that they were signed in the first place is it?? We all know who that was down to don't we?
It all feels satisfactory for me at present unfortunately fine words big aspirations and raised hopes are we all know from experience the things by which good subscription levels of season tickets are built but the reality out there on the pitch, come the start of the season, we also all know to our cost, is something different altogether. It's always easy to be optimistic when we aint playing anyone.

walker is a good player and we looked far more dangerous with him in the team. He's streets ahead of moy and likely a better FB than rapana but he's always injured so can understand the desire to move him on
