Without being biased i’m really surprised Sam isn’t there. If you compare where we were last year and our position now. Also playing a really good brand of rugby.
Peet fair enough. He has the trophies in the cabinet.
Peters - Improved KR again and are one of the favourites to win the GF. fair enough.
Eccles - can’t really argue he has got London playing attacking rugby and got some decent wins with a part time team. Especially when everybody said they wouldn’t win a game. But coach of the year? hmm
Rowley - I mean Salford have done really well again this year punching above their weight on a limited budget and he is a good coach but they’ve also been a tad inconsistent and limped out of the playoffs. so it would be a no from me.

Now that is shocking! Rookie coach oversees a complete turnaround in 1st season, CC finalists and at least SL semi finalists and not even nominated? Only one answer to that snub!

Or they decided since he is going to coach us to a Grand Final win that’s reward enough But since it’s all the coaches that vote I find it strange he is not on the list Unless Robinson didn’t vote for him because we got Yates early and Myler instructed Grix not to vote for him

Exactly. I accept that Eccles has probably done the best he could under difficult circumstances, but let's not forget how utterly abject Hull FC have been this season, and London still finished below them. Nominating Eccles just feels patronising.

Matty Peet is the only winner for this award The work has done at Wigan am surprised the mainstream media has not been more interested in him.

Eccles has had every card in the deck stacked against him and his club, so he has done a very commendable job in the circumstances. I expected them to lose every game, and he deserves credit for not doing that.

However, nominating the coach who finished bottom and not Burgess is just ridiculous.

Sam just has to win the GF and make them look even more daft
