He has the balance and speed for a world class three quarter… in time he will play centre but I see him as our first choice right winger at the outset of season 25… a real athlete !

It's going to be tough going in SL so a capable squad is important.
It should be the best form team in the 17 each week and if you have multiple options it makes picking a form team much easier.

I see our starting centres as Pratt and Scott but clearly Max at fullback but if Rourke shows he's better then he plays for me. Including wing too.

We’ve amassed a very good looking squad but there are a number of variables that we can’t govern and we won’t know until we start playing competitively in Superleague.

Firstly and for me most importantly is how well our new halfbacks combine and create. If they click then everyone else will go well and we’ll be alright. For example look how well Salford play with Sneed pulling the strings but take him out of the team and they’re less than average.

Secondly we don’t know about our youngsters yet, even Pratt who’s looked every inch a high class player this season but isn’t guaranteed to settle at a higher level. We have a lot of young untested players who have never played regularly at a level above the Championship and while I know we’ve researched and bought wisely we won’t know about them until they show us next season.

Thirdly, we’ve put some faith in a few players who will be returning from long term, serious injuries and recapturing their form after such an injury isn’t guaranteed.

All of that said, we couldn’t have done anymore than we have to prepare ourselves for the top division than we have, so we can go into the new season with real optimism

One thing Mills said today, in answer to the fitness and injuries question was that they are putting a lot of faith in our rehab team.
He said we've sometimes previously spent a couple of million on players and then put their welfare in the hands of a newly qualified physio.
That's why they went for the best and most experience Rugby League physio around in Crowther.
Hopefully we'll see the difference.
