Like, I don’t know whether your paraphrasing of my ramble is to suggest I was making an admission of ignorance or to suggest that I was accusing Roam Ranger or Wilf of that.
There was also an implication that talk of the 2024 Hull FC playing group having a bad attitude doesn’t ring very true to me. Fitness and quality seemed like much bigger issues.
Just to be clear, I wasn't suggesting a bad attitude was solely the reason for the problems. I don't know anything nor was I trying to imply that I did. It was merely my attempt to suggest that if there has been such an attitude and players influencing and creating that attitude, that I hope that those players are moved on. Basically I just want Cartwright to have a fresh start when he arrives without any potential player power rearing it's ugly head and making his job harder than it already is.
But I have always said that it's a combination of factors at play that have seen FC sink as low as they have, including fitness and quality.

It is an interesting debate.
The 'cancer in the club' has now been touted for many many seasons - I have no idea if that is or ever has been true ? Almost certain it has been in the past but far less certain with the current crew.
Culture is the current 'In' word which I fully support - aspiration, accountability, responsibility & an outright determination to win is priceless in RL.
I rarely saw lack of effort this year ( after TS departed ) but we did see lack of tactics, fitness & frankly boys bravely trying to do mens work & being ground down by sheer bulk & strength.

Effort has been there but that has been all that was there, as you say there has been little evidence of anything else certainly in terms of structure, tactics, discipline and fitness etc. We have for far too long looked a disorganised rabble with very little leadership on the field, which is hardly surprising when we didn't replace leaders like Ellis, Mini & Sika.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

I'm not convinced there has been effort off the pitch easily the worse I've seen us fitness wise, yes alot of that comes down to your coaching staff, but it's something you can also influence. You only have to look at how for Aydin has and the intensity he plays at.

And on the flip side Jack Brown has struggled to get up to speed with Rovers intensity levels

To be fair the fans have asked for it so can’t complain that they’ve deceived to step up. Think it will just be another case of AP telling everyone how the recruitment is much better and how next season will be different, obviously it’s just words until we see it on the pitch.
Hopefully might learn what’s happened with the Covid loans we aimed to have paid off by the first quarter this year. The radio silence isn’t good on that if you ask me. Can’t shake the horrible feeling that any money earmarked for that went towards paying off Smith/Gene/Hoy/Pele/Ock because he felt under pressure to act.
