Other than those stating the obvious in that we need props, the club are rubbish and do everything wrong comments there is very little in the way of actual rumours. The odd NRL name popping up now and then, mostly wishfull thinking like RCG. Nothing to even get us salivatiing like we had with Croft last year. The best I have seen elswhere is Cleary coming to SL to be with his GF who apparently is coming to play football. Now that is a proper rumour
When Arthur said they were using this week for review at the post match press conference I don’t think he was referring to the 80 mins at Craven Park. Ever since then it's as if the entire club as been locked in the changing room. Not a word from the club or its close media sources: no email from Garry, no update from Blease, no real end of season obituary from Peter Smith. It's like there's an omerta. I can only hope that the board and senior management have finally concluded that enough is enough, and when those locked doors finally open there is a concrete plan in place. Then again, it could be that Garry has deleted his template and JJB's crack IT squad can't recover it from the server.

Byrne may be down the pecking order at Wigan but on this year's form he's better than any of our props bar Oledski! Could do a job at Leeds in the way Harrison who we passed on has done at Wire
Yes I believe he was desperate to stay with us but the maverick coach for only he knows didn't like tall players "Walters" another case, Harrison was a local lad with great pedigree but he saw more in Goudemand and Sangria you know the rest.

James Harrison? The one that played a few games on Loan for us in 2020? Signed for Warrington in 2022?

Wasn't personally linking it to RS but he's an example of the type of player that fills out a squad in a salary cap sport.Played in 80% of Warringtons games this year averaging 90m per game which is far better than our props bar Oledski. Leeds seem obsessed with projects they think may be the next Walmsley etc when actually every successful team need some hardworking squad men to counter balance the stars. Back in the day Carl Ablett probably in that category for the goldens.

Hindsight is wonderful though.
If we had signed Harrison from Fev in 2020 which is four years ago he would have been a ‘project’ signing.
Our issue isn’t hard working professionals it’s the ‘ stars’ you mention that were missing.

I think part of Rohan Smith's thing was that he could spot something in players that nobody else could. He went out to the championship and lower SL clubs to build the squad, and came back with Sangare, Goudemand, Warren, Hudson, Roberts, McDonnell, Olpherts and Ruan. Literally only McDonnell has worked out as a SL regular so far, and he is hardly amongst the elite of the competition.
I don't think there was a single poster on here, or anyone I spoke to in person who was satisfied with our front row going into this season, or with signings like Frawley, but RS had a philosophy that he wanted to play.
The club have not helped themselves over the years by letting decent home talent leave, who all seems now to be regular SL players, and far better than what we've brought in (Dupree, Mulhern, Harrison, Trout amongst others).
Arthur has come in and realised what every man and his dog (except RS) knew from the start of this season, we're no way near big enough, and we're no way near fit enough. Hopefully Blease can sort out the squad and backroom, and Arthur can whip us into a half decent team with fitness and a style of play that makes us competitive in every game whether we win or lose.
