Tough game against Leigh coming up Sunday but I'm sure they will give it 100%. Whoever wins has a great chance of going up to SL as I suspect both are better than Featherstone.

Gus Mackay we salute you!!

Am not sure what people expected. It's far from a dummy spit, we all knew this was coming. For some they will be happy that he has decided enough is enough, as for potential new investors there does not seem to be any news on that front.

Can’t say as I’m sorry that he’s quitting- looked to me that nearly every time he had to make a decision he made the wrong one for the club - but WTF happens now?

No owner.
No potential investors.
Only about half a dozen players under contract.
And we were relegated at the weekend.
If it wasn’t for the list above I’d probably be celebrating!

Seriously I think his decision is perfectly reasonable but as is often the case, the way he has gone about it seems ‘sub-optimal’ unless it’s all been professionally handled behind doors and we, the fans, simply didnt really need to be told the club had gone. Which I suppose is fine. BTW to prospective buyers. The front door key is under the mat. Milk bill has been paid until Wednesday.

After 27 years could the words ‘Hughes’ and ‘professionally handled’ ever appear in the same sentence?

If we work on the basis that this terse exit is all in order and not a bit childish, I assume we have been sounding out options. Does anyone know exactly when we have to tell the RFL we can’t meet our commitments to complete a season. I assume we are signing no one. I assume we have nowhere to play. I assume we are doing nothing about engagement, comms, season ticket prices etc. in other words what has happened is akin to an insolvency/gone bust situation rather than a mature passing of the baton. I think it’s reasonable to call that a dummy spit. I don’t know why the official statement didn’t have a heading ‘are you happy now IMG you have killed all our hopes and a picture of a crying child’ I really do think this is a shabby way to go about things.
I’d expect if we don’t hear something within next couple of weeks that is that. Even if we do it’s pretty obvious that next season is likely to be a shambles where we struggle to avoid relegation to L1. So that’s hardly building on the work done (finally) to do some effective engagement with fan base. Crazy, crazy way to go about things but they’re we are.

I was told at the weekend that one group have shown an interest in taking on the club.
They have previously had an involvement with the club. Whether it is true, or anything comes of it who knows.

Doesn’t look great does it? Sad that the last game was a complete and utter pasting away from home. I suppose AFC know we’ve pulled the plug?

Mature passing on of the baton can only really occur if there is someone else to accept the baton, I suspect Mr Hughes has been looking for someone to do that for a number if years. Eventually everyone has a limit.
I don't think london are alone though! What happens to giants if Ken Davy does not prop them up.
They certainly don't get gate numbers
Catalans and BG not sure how they are set up if he stops selling saucisse in enough numbers to earns the euros.

As for DH love him or hate him he kept the club afloat when no one else was there.

Well at least here is an opportunity for some light relief:
Potential candidates:
Ernie Clay? No he's dead
Barry Maranta? Has the money but why try again?
Richard Branson? No tax exile.
Ross Strudwick? Dear lord no.
Lamb & Lawton? Sorry boys, not enough money.
The Bartrams? OMG they might reinstate my Life Membership.

Feel free to add more sensible suggestions to this list......

True.
Shame that pretty much every decision he made took the club backwards though - compared to how it was when he took over.
