In truth if you take out the emotion of it being Houghton's last game, he truly has been a magnificent servant to Hull FC and RL, it was a really poor quality game. I think it just strengthens the argument that all the games in the final round of the regular season should start at the same time, but being realistic Sky are never going to let this happen unless it suits their scheduling and the RFL hasn't got the balls to stand up to them to make it happen

Tom has been dropped from the England squad, which has been cut from 31 to 24. Presumably the management don't feel that he has recovered sufficiently from his broken tibula.

Selfishly I don't mind too much. Should be fully recovered by the time Trinity get in the gym for pre-season, and desperate to get back in Wane's squad next year

I don’t mind that either. He’s back fit but be tough going into an international with no games for a few months.

Ashton is a decent stand in to be fair but the back line with Ashton and Newman especially looks a bit understrength.

Still can’t wait to see TJ pull the short back on! He could score 30 + next season if we get it right on that left edge. Even Walmsley will add some pace and agility on the right as he can hunt some try’s too. Some players just have that ability.
