That’s obvious and doesn’t even need to be said. That’s always been underpinning the whole season.

This is more about Max and I can see him wanting to get as far up that record books as possible. It’s a personal achievement he may never get again.

It’s not a choice between winning the final or superleague or etching his name in the record books. He can have both without conflict.

True but playing with a freshly broken nose is chuffin horrible! Still, can imagine the conversation between him and Mat Crowther this morning: 'How's it feeling?' 'Spot on, can't wait for Saturday.'

I think there’s two weeks off before our semi final.

A bit far off that isn’t he?

Not really. Think he needs about 18 points a game from remaining or so to be number one in the world ever in RL history.

That would be something that could stand another 100 years.

Climbing with every point he gets.

He could well be in the top 10 but I can't see him making top.
He'd have to score 18 points a game in each of the last 4 games. That's a tough job.

He'd need 27 points in 4 games to crack the top 10.

That list also doesn’t include the NRL, so can’t exactly call it no 1 world record.

It doesn't include anybody from the NRL because there hasn't been a player in the history of Southern Hemisphere Rugby League that has broken 400 points in a season.

Certainly hard yes I agree but it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for him to get as high in the list and cement his place in the record books.

He may not do it but who knows if he gets the odd 20 points + like he has this season a few times.

Watch him miss next game now

Ball in hand we were not very good and the forwards couldn't lay the platform that they usually do but credit has to go to York for stopping us.

What I was impressed with was our defence. York had plenty of ball near our line but except the try in the 1st half they never really looked like scoring. If we defend like that for the rest of the season then we will be hard to beat in the playoffs.

For me that’s been the most pleasing thing about this season. The defence and the defensive structure and line speed. This has been vastly improved. I hope they put just as much focus on it next season.
