We need Bateman to win a GF in 2023, but we don’t need him to be top 4 material in 2024. The overall standard of SL this season has been poor imo and I see little sign of change in the make up next season.

Is this one of those complicated movie plots about time travel, that I pretend to understand when other people talk about how good a movie it was?

Depends if you can get a flux capacitor

Everyone said Fitzgibbon was done and retiring after his did his shoulder the first time. Then he came back, fair enough it's a reoccurrence of the same injury, but doesn't mean it's a retirement injury. If he's done for this season he's got around 5 months to have Surgery if needed and rehab. Or just 5 months to rehab and strengthen it again. Would have to wait until next year to see.

Burgess has just said it’s highly unlikely Fitzgibbon will play again this season. It does not look good for him and he as seen a consultant.

Dammit. He’s played his part for the club, even though he was only here for a short while. Let’s hope we can make it over the big line and dedicate it to him.
Again doesn't mean he's done just because he's seen a consultant for an injury, it's common place. All rumour and speculation until either himself or the club say that's his career over.
