Some quality attacking play on show last night built on the early desire to defend, croft was class and martin is going to be a huge loss and not just for hisboot. Arthur really impressed me with his comments about his own role in leading the team in the build up during the week, and the need to reflect on himself. He spoke of needing to step back on the emphasis of addressing attitude and put trust in the players. I think this was really evident as the team looked like they took ownership of the performance.
II wasn't going to bother going either but glad I did in the end . Good to see a few smiles on faces for a change, although I don't think anyone will get carried away, given the fact Hull were absolutely dire. When I saw the guy warming the team up,none other than our ex-conditioner ( Lol ) or whatever he was supposed to be, Jason Davidson . I feel sorry for Gaz Ellis and Danny Houghton been associated with this shambles.

Without wanting to have a pop at Smith, he sounded like a man who'd read 50 books on leadership theory. Arthur sounds and acts like a man who's had years of top level practical experience. In other words - a very safe bet.

Smiths approach was built around a bit of 'play whats infront of you (play what you see)' its a shame that didnt extend to his coaching so that he could see the approach wasnt working. As you allude to its time to put down the theory books and respond to what it actually looks like at the coal face.
Played some lovely stuff didn’t they. Attacking structure was superb. Some fabulous tries. Big well done after last weeks effort. The attitude was great

For goodness sake , it was like a semi professional team against a poor amateur side

I think Ploiner’s post was his point. It was like watching your 14 year old son, who you know isn’t too fast, winning the Under 10’s 100m Sprint. I was pleased for young Edghill and it was good to see Miller looking more like an RL player, but it barely scraped a 5/10 on my Pleasureometer. People enjoy some things more than others, there’s no right and wrong. Hull’s injuries, lack of confidence and protection from relegation rendered the game a glorified training session to me. I’ll genuinely look forward to Friday’s game whether it ends in us getting a drubbing, us flattering to deceive or a glorious repeat of our last meeting. It will be a meaningful contest and something to judge players fairly on.

Hull were Very poor but I think the positive reflections on the game are about the much improved movement of the ball, and attacking shape. You can have games where that scoreline leaves you feeling flat still because the trys scored don't require much cohesion or sign of being able to build to the right areas of the field and playing from there. Though it might not be enough to beat Wigan or kr away I think the way we played not just the score, leaves reason to be positive.
A bitlike getting beaten by a big score you can lose by the same and still feel positive because the team available etc have got the most out of themselves.
