This is just the tip of the iceberg IMO and I'm expecting more clubs to speak out when the season ends. Fev posted this on their website last week:
"Featherstone Rovers can announce that for the remainder of the Championship League season, concession prices (over 65) will be reduced from £20 to £15 and children under 16 will be free. These changes come into immediate effect for the Barrow game and are made in response to the disappointing home crowds in recent weeks. Tickets are immediately available online HERE! “The drop in crowds have been stark this season and our last home game against Toulouse was perhaps most notable for myself when, after our great recent form, the crowd wasn’t even 50% of the numbers that attended last year’s home Toulouse game,” said Martin Vickers, CEO. “I continue to hear lots of reasons why fans aren’t coming to games but the message is simple; the team are firing, they are playing a good brand of rugby and the players need the support to maintain our play-off push. “Let’s have no excuses and get down in numbers for this Sunday’s vital game against Barrow. These changes have been made to ensure that there are no reasons not to attend our important next three home games. “I thank our Club’s loyal supporters who were at the game on Saturday and played a massive part in getting the team over the line. I applaud the 100 Club Members who have signed up in large numbers in recent days, well in advance of the 31st August deadline. We need the supporters who have drifted away this season, we need you back in numbers this Sunday to help maintain the Club’s push for the play-offs. Barrow are fighting for their lives in the competition and have already beaten us at their place, so we do need your support more than ever to get us over the line.”
I have said all along that £20 is far too much for Championship rugby. Pre SL in the mid 90s the admission was a fiver. If it had been increased by the rate of inflation over the last 30 years, then the admission would now be a tenner. There are some self proclaimed "super fans" on here who would pay any amount of money to watch Fax and demand that other supporters do the same otherwise they're just armchair fans. I'd argue otherwise - fans have been taken for granted and now the chickens are coming home to roost. For ALL the clubs.
Heard the whispers and why I said Fax could be the first to go and now the whisper has become a shout. No idea what it’s going to take to get through it or even if it’s possible to do so. Personally have to have more time to think about contributions.

Sad state of affairs seeing club implode again! Radicle, but rather than throwing money into a pot that can never be filled, declare bankrupt take the medicine, very hard on everyone, especially creditors, but really Fax have not helped themselves this has not happened over the past couple of years. Take the ‘news’ The Fax shop will be open on match days !! I would have thought that needs to be a staple requirement of any business to be open when the footfall is most prevalent. Then If enough people are prepared to contribute to a new Halifax RLFC with a board who have some business nouse, not just enthusiastic people, and I have admiration and respect that they have put themselves up to be shot at. Some can and will say that it is easy for me to write this living 000’s of miles away. As mentioned above I will not throw money into a deepening hole but will seriously consider scraping some pennie’s together for a new start. If the end of the world is neigh for rugby league as seems a real possibility, I will be gutted for the Fax and their faithful, and I hope Super League and Sky will be able to sleep soundly when the Championship disintegrates, as stated previously it will only take one for the domino effect. As a final rant Mr N Wood has a lot to answer for, ‘Blue Sox’ my a&$e.
My Humble Opinion Only - let the knockers begin.

Can only guess from the info we have but possibly see a sort term rally with contributions from those with connections to the club and from the fan base that's left.
Paying the tax man is the first priority because he won't wait but even if they manage to scrape enough together to settle that, still questions of what's happening with the ground rent payments and the Shay, wage payments, can they fulfil the fixtures that involves the travel to Toulouse.
If they don't fulfil the fixtures there will be punishment from the RFL and even if they declare bankruptcy with an exodus in the Board room and terraces and nowhere to play how can they reform or be allowed back in.
What would be the point anyway without a new board with the finances to be able to fix it so if there is anyone we should find out pretty soon or we'll be gone.
I really hope there is a positive outcome for Fax. I am a firm believer that our sporting clubs represent our town positively, much more than the highly glorified Piece Hall - this isnt a dig at the PH, but I think our clubs put us on the map more than the PH does. To lose one of them would be extremely depressing.

Does the Piece Hall put us on the map? Recently a Mastermind contestant was asked "In what West Yorkshire town is the Grade 1 Listed Piece Hall..." (There was some further part to the question about its past use or something). Her answer was "Leeds" - The PH is well known in the area, but further away few people know about it, many people see the photos on facebook and refuse to believe it's even in the UK!
As for Fax, I'm wary that any fundraising monies will be handed over and poured into a black hole. Only got to go back 10 years or so when Bradford raised half a million quite quickly, handed it over, and the business still got wound up. A third party (supporters trust perhaps?) should be holding onto the money until people know how it is going to be spent.
No one bar a couple of people know the full extent of the debts, how much money is needed to get to the end of September, Then October, then through the winter with limited income. Some transparency would be nice here.

So do I but to be fair if we've got to this sorry state then it shouldn't and cant continue.
Genuine question, do you know how will it work out for Town and the Shay with the council seemingly set on getting rid because of the well publicised costs and financial issues if FC are the only ones down there, are there any plans in place?
The hubris of the last board has left us desperate. Indeed, any short term funding has to be held and communicated in trust. Lack of credible assets has always hampered the club since the move to the shay. If we are on the block, Town won't be far behind if they are left holding the shay. It really beggars belief that the playing budget was inflated by 150k and evenmore derisory knowing the IMG changes were coming and never being able to compete with Wakefield. Which of the sponsors have gone to the wall? Im not sure if I was seeing things on the highlights from the Donny game but the Colfax sponsor was gone from the shirt??
