I’m not going to get into a debate about how good he is or isn’t on the training field as very few fans will really know the ins and outs of it and what if any influence the assistant coach has. Personally I don’t think it’s all that important some will disagree massively, I’d never make a big deal of it either way. As long as you have good players and a good culture in general I’m sure Lasty fits into a good culture. I do like the idea of having good ‘clubmen’ around the place. Right or wrongly a few ex players recently have stuck the boot into our support, be nice to have one of our own in a decent position at the club.

Last may be a good appointment who knows but since he went to Catalan they have nosedived
If the coach is being removed then im all for the assistant to go too.
Dont get this promotion of the assistant coach in rugby or football if the manager or coach gets the sack

They usually appoint the assistant on an interim basis and see how he does but continue looking for someone else.

If he starts well like Solskjaer did he gets the job. Brilliant start but ultimately was found out.

I'm happy to see him back and I reckon it's cos Grix is a gonner. He was a decent assistant before but now has gone off and worked under a couple of other coaches which can only benefit himself and us

I bet Wigan are pleased they didn't listen to you when they appointed Peet.

Most clubs run with 2 good assistants.
I think it's wishful/fanciful thinking from some regarding Grix.
He was always on a hiding to nothing. On the whole he has improved the team but he's playing with the poor hand he's been dealt.
I'm happy for him to have his 2nd year and work in tandem with Last under Cartwright.

Personally thought Grix has done ok.
He’s got young kids not ready for SL,
Most of the rest are championship level players.
Every week the selected 17 players have changed due to injury and suspension.

He comes across as smug and arrogant and digs players out left right and centre. I hope he goes. But can’t see it.
