Radders signed his past it mates for Cas, not sure any coach would have got much out of Fonua 5 years past his sell by date
Yes he was there for the start of our decline but he was also there for the cup wins and success. And like others I take Wane and McNamara rating him as a good sign.

We’ve appointed an Aussie coach, I think in the NRL they put a lot less emphasis on natural positions, outside backs especially seem a lot more interchangeable and clubs will sign say someone who’s playing on the wing but sign them to play centre or full back or vice versa because they think they’ve got the skill set. Also a lot of 6 or 7’s make the switch to what they call the ‘14 jersey’ as the interchange dummy half. I’m not saying the recruitment is particularly great or that they’ll all work out, but I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Cust, Sezer, Rapana and Cartwright Jrn have all played under Cartwright Srn. I’m sure he knows the skill set and trusts them to play the positions he has in mind. He could be just plain wrong of course but when you appoint a coach you have put a certain amount of trust in their judgement in players even if working under a DOR.

He was in the staff but not sure he was the main assistant, we had Jon Sharp, James Webster was there for a spell, then Radders was with Gentle. There was also Andy Hay for a bit. Lost track of what happened when in all the mediocre disappointments

I just think it' a lazy, uninspiring appointment when we could have really gone out of our way to find someone who can make a difference. it's the same as signing briscoe, chamberlain, hardaker, cust, sezer and rapana. In isolation they're not bad signings it's just the more of that ilk you sign the further from where you could have been that you get.

too much sense there Jake you will soon be the new whipping boy of the Hull FC forum And never mention that HKR are a good team

I respect a couple of guys who work for me because they're reliable and do as they're told but I wouldn't trust them to run things
The word “assistant" gives it away, he won't be running things he'll be working under the direction of the head coach. I think it's generally accepted that the appointment of Coach Cartwright is a good one so his judgement should be trusted. He's appointed the current England assistant, who would you suggest as a better option?

Ryan sheridan, Michael Shenton to name a couple. Someone who was an attacking player

Left in 2020 amd no one can argue we haven't got significantly worse since he left, even under Agar, things didn't seem as bad as this. The last two assistant were Gene and Purtill, one is unemployed, the other was managing Leighs women's team.
