Playing rapana in the centres will likely lead to fans turning on him quickly next season when he struggles there defensively
Totally agree. He is absolutely revered by Canberra fans for his attitude and determination and they are disappointed that he is leaving.
He would be a great acquisition for any SL club but he's as a winger who has played a few games this season at fullback.
The last quota place should have been used for a centre.
Rapana just seems like another instance of us signing a name rather than a player we really need. Several, cust and ropana are poor quota options for us imo

The club will know who else is leaving, hence Rapana probably replacing Walker and Cust probably replacing Smith. I like Walker a lot, but he just misses too many games. Hopefully Myler has a couple of domestic signings up his sleeve, one being a forward. The thing I think is just as important, are the off field appointments. The club can also make a statement with who they bring in.

I agree with that Seb but you cant compare Sezer/Abdul pairing to what we had today in Smith and Charles There are far better halfback combos in the Championship than Smith and Charles My point about Sezer was that if you look at how innefective he was at Leeds that surely should have been the indicator to Myler to say stay away.Thats why i said its a desperation signing.
Brad Schneider off contract end of this season. I generally don't know why we didn't speak to him. Killing it for Penrith.
Rapana will be good for the club off the field as well as on it. When you have Canberra fans raging they didn't offer a two year contract that's a good thing isn't it!?
Still don't get the Sezer signing. Him and Abdul are almost identical players!
Is it right Abdul has a target fitness/weight in the contract for pre season start?

He isn't off contract, also if he is killing it, Penrith wouldn't be letting him go. Plays a similar game to the two we have signed, a fit Abdul has a better running game than him
I’m as critical as anyone of this recruitment cycle and felt we needed a real X factor player at 6 or 7 but on reflection and yesterdays reminder just how much we lack organisation I think the negative reaction to Sezer (me being guilty) is quite silly now.
I don’t know what happened in that second season at Leeds I can’t remember if he was really that poor or not but that aside if you look at his stats he’s really been a handy player his whole career. He’s been a first choice 7 pretty much his whole NRL career and racked up not far off 200 first grade games despite spending 3 years over here. Put that in perspective with someone like Clune at Hudds and other SL players that end up doing well decent he’s obviously got quality and a smart player. At 33 I’d have still said you only get one year at first but maybe that is the reality of where we are.

How was he innefective at Leeds? In his first season they won 70% of games he played in.
