I would’ve preferred Nicholson on the pitch to Bateman last night, was waiting for a yellow for dissent all game.
Unbelievable that but for a bit of composure we could have won that game.
Got a Band of Brothers” vibe which should stand us in good stead for the play offs.

Just my opinions unless it's a FACT, in which case it's a fact.

Leigh are the 4th most penalised team in the league by the way. Also have the most yellow cards.

BTW - Vaughan agrees with the new rules as he states below here.

Thanks to Cokey's Vaughan link, I also listened to Burgess's post match comments and I have to agree with the boss. I actually think that this game and Burgess's reaction will serve to galvanize us as a team going forward.

Composure is the correct terminology Captain and I must say that I'm a tad disappointed in some reactions on here bagging players for their mistakes last night. High intensity game played with 12 men against opponents that have generally given us trouble in all kinds of ways with their ex Wire contingent finding the performance percentages that might have seen some of them still here (I wouldn't have any of them back BTW) and a win for them at all costs absolutely essential.

Yes, King had a poor game, but I think that he will be the first to admit that and I think his attitude now under the current regime will be hands up and how can I make amends rather than I can't be bothered.

I think that we are a different animal this year, one that we've not seen for a dozen years or so and I'm sure whatever happens we won't crumble and fizzle out in the play offs

Vaughan is a great player and out to know better and that is my agenda with him.
He is poor discipline choice is prolific, whilst nobody is bigger than my club.

The sun can shine from his backside when I see him play in the big games and put top teams on theirs.

He gets stellar credit for showing great stats agains poor teams and plenty quality family time off work when his input is wanted the most.

I hope that Sam’s vocal critic might be enough for the disciplinary to shy away from hitting Vaughan with a suspension, but I’d be surprised if he didn’t get a game ban and a fine.
The disciplinary wouldn’t budge on his ‘pick him up’ ban, regardless of the evidence brought.

I don't think Vaughan is to blame for just trying to make a good strong hit, that shoulder contact was minimal and it was clear he didn't lead with it looking to do damage. Sky's forensic examination of these sort of tackles almost always finds one controversial angle that makes it look 10x worse and once that's shown ad nauseum and the crowd get to go "OOOOOHHHHH" and shout "OFF" then there's only one outcome.

Props to Sam for telling it like it is, and for rightly being ticked off shall we say, to the point of cutting the interviewer off, good man. Feck sky and the RFL.

Red card was ridiculous , it’s like the commentary team are saying us humans are too stupid to ref games these days and we now need AI and VR . This is ruining the game , it’s a physical game played at a fast pace , these things are going to happen . This wasn’t like when Bob Jackson broke Stu Pugsleys jaw (over a year out) at Wilderspool in the 90s and didn’t even get a card .

Leigh where scrappy , poor execution, not sure I agree they were offside all game , might have looked that way as it was 13 v12 . I would say it was probably a moral victory for wire and the Leigh crowd we're flat too , tells us nothing about how Leigh will do against the top clubs unless we rely on bad decisions every week . Tyler Wray looks like a potential superstar in the making , you don’t see too many players with that explosiveness.

Should it be that the VR is not allowed to listen sky commentators as not to be influenced? Wells was prolific with his criticism of Vaughan until he sent off.

This is a poor take, in my opinion. I suspect you know that, and I suspect this is the old Stan Collymore TalkSport bait approach. But if you genuinely have no agenda, you’d be going after another NRL import who didn’t get sent off after only 11 minutes and only contributed 7 more tackles and 11 more meters.

It’s self evident that Vaughan is our best prop, and is in the top handful in the league. 1 red and 1 yellow from 11 penalties conceded, with the reds both this year and last being technical fouls not malicious intent, I think it’s a sweeping overreaction and/or just a bit clueless.

I’m still unclear, was the red for the tackle or the arm in th face when he was on the floor? Shows what a difference a coach makes last season that was a 40+ point defeat.
I normally don’t take too much note of th commentators as tit is usually a bunch of “ex” Saints but last night Wells seemed to be a complete and utter kn0b. When Holmes got yellow carded he seemed to think that gave us some sort of advantage rather than just even out the numbers.
Finally what was the “on report” all about? How come the vid ref wasn’t involved? Not that I see the point of on report anymore when all matches are reviewed any way.

Just my opinions unless it's a FACT, in which case it's a fact.
