Was it Wayne Jackson who ended up playing for us ? Think it's harsh saying they weren't trying we were on fire at the time and gave the aussies a real test the week after..they did have a player called Grobbalaer though who surprisingly kept dropping the ball..
I half expect Liam Finn to be really proud of our efort come the end of the game but ultimatley a comfortable Donny win.

Other than Dews/Whitehaven it's our best opportunity for a win and i think we'll edge it...can't help thinking though..Finn in charge again next year with a gash of Dewsbury recruits is there any point...?

Fair play to Finn, I actually agree that the players really are trying (most of the time!) it's just the lack of quality which is letting us down. This was very evident against Wakey when some players (who I shan't pick out) were woefully exposed despite their hard graft.
I suppose it's quite obvious. Even if the players don't give 100% then if the quality is there, we should still be beating the likes of Swinton. As Howard Wilkinson once said - "there's no substitute for quality".

Bit disrespectful to our progression, yes the likes of fax, bradford and even widnes are bigger teams with bigger history but nobody has a devine right to classed as a big team. What about being embarrassed that you've had to rely on leeds players to get you out of the mess when 'little' clubs like ourselves try and go alone? Anyway hope you enjoy your trip on Sunday.

You're right,no disrespect and we are embarrassing in many ways...having said that we continually name a forward called Hudson from Leeds and never play him ?? maybe he'll get a chance on Sunday as hopefully the dud we've got on loan from you will not be allowed to play...

Nothing but respect for Donny and indeed most of the clubs in the league and the days of Fax being anything like a bigger club are long gone.
However we don’t make the rules and like everyone else being free to choose an available option doesn’t embarrass me one bit.
Can’t make the trip on Sunday and expect to lose but it’s not a certainty like last weekend.

My comments were based on my personal visits to Donny over many years and the historical results against The Dons. As you say though all that is in the past and it's the now that matters. I am totally embarrassed though, by Fax's involvement with SL clubs and any club that goes it alone deserves full credit for that. I'm not sure though, that Doncaster are in that category. I'll be there however on Sunday cheering Fax on to what some might say would be a surprise two points. Up The Fax!

There are a few old codgers on here who will always remember Doncaster as being RL's perennial whipping boys along with Huyton (and even Batley until recently). Indeed a documentary was even made about Donny called "Another Bloody Sunday" on how they struggled.
