He's not officially signed elsewhere, won't be on the quota next season, has been our most consistent player for 4 years, rarely out injured and rarely gets pushed back in the collision (unlike a lot of our pack until recently) and can kick as well as anyone. Also can slot into centre of needed. Better be someone bloody good to replace him as for me he's been up there with Ablett and JJB for continuous performance levels and effort. A pre-season under Arthur too just says please keep him within reasonable terms.

One thing is absolutely certain, if we want to get back to the top we have to be utterly ruthless when it comes to cap spend - decide what players are worth and stick to it. Every £10k we give one player means that money can't be used elsewhere. We cannot go back to any player and go beyond what we think works under the cap.
He's about the best of our overseas players when his kicking is included. But we've loaded up on overseas backs and the only one that's leaving is Fusitu'a. Our biggest problem area is the pack, and Martin is one of a number of smaller forwards. He's quick and makes the odd break and can cover centre. But mostly he's stopped dead on impact, along with most of our other forwards. If retaining Martin would have stopped us signing a second high quality prop then IMO its not worth it, as we absolutely need two.
gets stopped in his tracks , what a load of rubbish
Sorry I forgot to mention he's probably our best overseas player...or did you choose to ignore that?..Rhyse makes ground sometimes with his speed and can make a break better than most, but in contact he's as easily stopped as most of our forwards. If you think he's Gorden Tallis reincarnated then I can't help you.
His kicking alone is worth his retention imo. At the minute he is also the best centre at the club . Why are we letting our top stars go to Hull KR . When we give them the one thing they need a great kicker next year then it’s a huge mistake. No disrespect to rovers I think they will win things this and next year.

Don’t think we need to start begging him to stay. He wants out and free’s up a crucial cap space. I’m more interested to see who comes in to be honest…..

Interesting, where did you read the bit about taking a lower wage?
