There was a lot of positives from the game but as I say was not an enjoyable experience at all.

Completely agree, me and
My lad missed last week v Wigan. We sat in the Kop which was rammed in Wigan v saints game , unreserved searing , utter carnage. We sat at end of a row on the left and I hardly saw anything of Wigan game for people filling the aisles.

I thought we played pretty tough but lack of props and a few other factors meant we were always up against it. They rested 5 last week and look a serious outfit this season. It could actually be their year.

As you say Kendall ruined the game for me. We did not get a penalty or 6 again until 60th minute and I genuinely believe he takes up back further in defence.

Newman was limping a lot today ,but kept trying and thought our number 4 was
Much better

Hope you had a good day anyway despite the result.

The butler had one on ice. In fairness, I agree with a lot of what you say. I am confident that we now have a very good coach at (for how long?) at the helm, and I think he will turn it round given proper backing. I never enjoy it when we lose, but to your point - I've kinda got used to it.

A positive for me was reinforcing the problems we have up front but also that we lack something in attack as well. That's a positive because the last thing we need is this squad giving a false impression of how good they are (or aren't).

Overall a poor day from pretty much everyone in our side. Miller terrible fus crap Smith kills any play he's involved with. No power upfront apart from 2 drives from lisone before he's done for the stint. Yes the ref was poor but we would have struggled to beat a championship club today.

Sinfield just doesn't look ready/good enough at this level yet. Give him a full season at a championship club but fear he could be the next Lilley. Newman isn't the same player he was. Discipline and laziness at marker let us down repeatedly tonight.

Hopes for a top 6 finish diminish somewhat tonight but at least it highlights need for 2/3 big signings

I expect to have a mixed bag against the average teams, and beat the really poor one’s anchored at the bottom of the table. That is based on our current squad and managers over this season . If you had asked me at the start of the season my expectations would have been a lot higher. The important context in my quote you referenced was I replied to posters that seemed happy to be losing games narrowly, or happy to lose and have some perceived plus points to take from a game. All a bit defeatist and overly optimistic for my liking. Have I been disappointed a lot this season ? The short and obvious answer is yes, what were you really expecting ? Was I disappointed tonight ? again yes. Only one of the Arthur Clues “ building for the future” crew would have been happy or taken many positives from tonight. He probably bought a bottle of Dom Perignon on the way home to celebrate being beaten by less than 20 points. Others will flip flop and say Momorovski had a decent game and ignore Frawley being back to terrible again. That shows what a low bar some people set regarding us as a club and what we should be expecting and accepting. I would say the negatives outweighed the positives again tonight, the only defence could be the ref was poor for us and once again showed the two tier refereeing system at it’s best. Many will be happy to ignore the fact we played against 12 and a half men for most of the game and failed to take advantage. The half of a man managed to score a hat trick on one leg as well. Overall, lots to build on for the Arthur Clues Crew and not much else for the realists.
Good post Owly and mostly true. Suppose my approach is to watch on and laugh about what we have become. Other teams fans are loving our situation. Biggest budget/resources in the league, yet missing top 6 again. Hard to believe really……

Struggle to beat a championship side.

Give over. That’s nonsense.

Arthur thought we played as well last night as we did against Wigan. I thought that was certainly true of the 1st half. Will be really interested to see if we can manage that level of intensity on Friday against Catalan.

I think it would have been game over by half time under smith.

Our intent on D was really good. We just didn’t have the cutting edge and then the game devolved in the second half under Kendall.
