It was all on the halves for us tonight. If they could create for us, we had too much elsewhere and they did just that. I thought Keighran looked a better halfback than centre and Farrimond was so much better for having some responsibility.

For sure, also Farrimond seemed to have taken the brunt for the Hull/Wire defeats - unfairly - but he has gone away, played in the Academy and come back better.

Saints forwards were woeful today, no punch in any of them. I’ve not seen the stats but I would be surprised if any of them made anywhere near 100m. Robertson is a handful he glides across the pitch. In hindsight I bet Wellens wishes he had picked one of the young lads at HB. They wouldn’t have changed the game but they would have gained valuable experience.

With the ball in hand he is pure quality, defensively he has to be more consistent. Today he was.

It’s extremely rare you could give Peet some constructive criticism but I think we could in how he handled the situation of having no hookers and an inexperienced halfback in the side. It was over complicated in using Farrimond at 6 in the defensive half of the field, then him at 9 in the attacking half and using Ellis as a 6. It meant Harry Smith was trying to create everything, on both sides of the field and Farrimond just looked a bit lost. He was given a role tonight that really suited his game and we got a glimpse of that all round threat he can bring.
