Oli Leyland wouldn't be a bad option either.

Think all our eggs went into the Lam basket and we are now back to square one. Not many halves are available and who want to come here, without paying stupid money.

zi think we have other options, we will have known or at least have had an idea about Lam a couple of weeks ago.

Much easier now to sign a young halfback who maybe hadn't played too many games due to the change in visa rules.

What Aussie players ever want to play in SL? His management have said publicly that he has no interest in SL, it’s no real secret. Salford agreed a deal with Richo and Wests to take him early on in the season but the player turned it down.

Things can change quickly though in sport. Its obvious him and his management feel like an NRL offer will come in for him but if that doesn’t materialise he’ll need a way to get his career back on track because it’s obvious Wests don’t want him. In the case of Sullivan specifically I agree it’s very unlikely I’m sure he’s sitting pretty on 2 or 3 more years but the point is that very few Aussies under 30 will have any ambition to play SL but find themselves with no option sometimes. Matt Dufty said the same a couple of months before he joined Wire.

I’d rather that (not Wakeham) than sign somebody on mega money who might not work out or play well and go home after a year. The next 2/3 have to be right and add real quality or it’ll be another long season. But I’m not holding my breath.

I agree with what you are saying I’ve just heard we’ve had tentative talks about Sullivan and there is no interest from him in the SL. Hence why I’m pretty confident it won’t happen.

History also tells us that we target a quality half. At first it looks promising but the negotiations become protracted and end when the player either signs either a new contract or leaves for another club. Then it all begins again and we end up signing someone like Reynolds.

Leyland is a no go because he joining Warrington to replace Drinkwater, it won’t be popular but think the stars are aligning for that one.

I wouldn't get a pass if we waste two quota spots on him and Cust.

Where has this been said that he is on a plan and Cartwright had a go???

Leyland doesn’t look much to me tbh and isn’t he also on the chunky side as well
