So far Asiita is a a top signings, not sure about Cartwright and Cust is a waste (IMO).
last two have to be top SL level signings.
Cust is baffling. He's a part-time hooker or halfback cover. We needed a specialist hooker.
The totality of our recruitment depends on the remaining quota signings. Probably need another non quota quality forward as well. May have to pay a transfer fee.
Pessimistic but I cannot see any significant improvement unless we get it right.
I would say of our signings for next season, currently Asiata is the only signing of real note/quality, though Cartwright could well prove to be a good signing. Most of the other signings whilst maybe not being popular are understandable to an extent when reading Mylers explanation as in needing experience adding along with work ethic in regards to training etc.
The one I'm really struggling to get my head around is Cust as he just seems a very strange/odd signing to make considering he's done little if anything in SL and spend most of his time off the field. I get that Cartwright may well know him well having coached him before but fail to see why when we need quality particularly with the quota spots we've gone for Cust almost replicating the signing of Nu Brown. Is Cust just seen as a squad player, then if so that in all honesty is a waste of a quota spot.
Think our current recruitment whether its been good or bad rests on the remaining quota spots as in the positions we fill and the level of quality.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

It seems Cartwright wanted Cust so that's good enough for me. He was very good at Wigan before his injury and he looks like he's been working very hard in the gym the last couple of months or so. Looks in incredible shape and with Abdull and Trueman im sure he'll be starting more than his fair share of games in the halves.
It depends on who Leeds and Hudds appoint and how they use their quotas, but they have more quality players than us in Croft, Ackers, Handley, Newman and Oledski at Leeds and Conor, Swift, Clune, Burgess at Hudds, apart from Asiata and Abdul if fit, we've nobody of real quality in our team next year, good youngsters and average squad / back up players, but a real lack of quality

Aside from chucking transfer fees around were stuck between a rock and a hard place.
What positions are you talking about if we are to be more active in the domestic market? The fact that Hardaker,Holmes,Chamberlain are on longer term contracts restricts what we can do.. Briscoe has only next season so something available there for 2026. Big mistake giving them 2/3 year deals.

Its a results business but there is no way with the current squad we will be out of the bottom four next season. At least two very big names as major signings will be needed to remove the apathy of fans and get them back to attending games. Personally dont think it will happen as its not only on the field the club have failed but the lack of interaction and involvement with fans by the management has left a very sour taste
Its not going to be an overnight fix and im happy to see how it plays out. Having players who will help the youngsters come on is vital, Moy , Charles and Balmforth could be the spine of this club for a very long time.
I couldnt care less if we remain bottom 4 next season as long as we start going up the table and the youngsters start turning into established first team players.
I understand whats trying to be achieved and to be honest I like the way Myler is just honest, rather then the marketing team rolling out some spin before the players are released half way into the season.

Don't see why we shouldn't be aiming for top 6 with a few more shrewd pieces of recruitment.
wouldnt class signing Hardaker,Chamberlain,Holmes and Cust as shrewd There are no sharp powers of judgement there

Contracts don't really mean anything though do they? It's a carrot to get a signature but we've had plenty of examples over the last couple of seasons of players leaving before the end of their contract.
