The line up was all over the place, no surprise the performance suffered. Two points, players rested, comfortable win. 6 homes games left.
Sure I'd like to see mistake free, flowing rugby but I accept its the teams DNA this season. All efforts now need to concentrate on being our best come the play offs.
We weren’t very good, but it’s easy to see why. McGillvary, Thornley, Gale, Lino, Atoni, Ashurst, Uele all missing, and playing our fullback and hooker in the halves. It wasn’t slick, and we were a bit carefree with the ball but I’ve no doubt it’s because the players know we could be and it wouldn’t affect the result.
Fair play to Dewsbury - their forwards never stepped back and they scored a couple of great tries.
Thought Harvey Smith was very good, Doyle dug in, Olpherts too.
I'm guessing we'll be without Croft and Bowden for Friday...leaving us light in the pack against a decent Sheffield team. It'll be a challenging game, but good teams rise to a challenge.
Well my eyebrows were raised at that line-up but I thought it was smart to leave a few out and put some square pegs in round holes given we were always going to be too good for Dewsbury .
There wasn't too much risk attached to it and we did win comfortably , it was never in doubt .
We all know when we need to be ready and I'm sure we will be .
