Mik is the only prop we have that can play to the right standard. I wish he had a bit of mongrel in him, but he’s the only one who consistently makes post contact metres and tops the stats for props every week.if we had three more like him we wouldn’t be in this mess.
It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.
Lots of big mick fan boys on here he has no hands no side step no aggression and never ever comes through the line. He is a fine specimen nice lad and an athlete but when Jon Wilkins a puny second rower says he would be licking his lips to face big mick then you should listen. Would Peacock, Macdermot, Kylie or even Bails be worthy of that comment ?
Wilkin is a bit of a d*k and got rightly laid out by Senior in one of my favourite RL moments.
You don’t have to be a “fanboy” of Mik to recognise he is a solid prop who’s Leeds boy and man, and is probably our most effective forward? He is frustrating at times but this is why we need other players around him who can support.
What would you do sack him?
The only player I am personally a fanboy of is probably McDonnell. Again not perfect and he needs to put on some size and tidy up his technique at times, but for heart and some decent skill I think he’s great.
Mik is a good solid prop. A couple more like him and we'd look much more solid. But he's never going to punch holes in a defence, absolutely muller people in tackles, or really do anything to create big moments in our favour. Just goes about his job the same way most weeks. I'd say that's why some fans of other teams (particularly Sts) don't rate him - they generally see him toiling away in an outgunned pack and wonder what the fuss is about.
Put Mik alongside a Walmsley-standard monster (maybe next year please Santa/BA) and he'd look much more standout. That's not putting him down - the best teams have both kinds of props, workers and dynamic players. We haven't had that at a high level since JP and Kylie retired.

Who cares what Saints fan think Hes made more clean breaks this season than Lees and Delaney together, and as nearly as many metres per game as both of them put together. Mik is quality, has carried this pack for years, and some weirdos on here moaning about him won't change that
