I think a bit of emotional intelligence is needed here and certainly not the time to throw the toys out of the pram as you know some will do. I was pleased with how the fans generally got behind the team - particularly in the second half. The lads have been brilliant over the last year and won every trophy you can win so they deserve support now we're having a blip.
It was a poor performance - it was never going to be pretty tonight but if we were going to have a chance we needed to be very solid and keep errors to a minimum. We did the opposite of that right from the start with the Byrne error and it was an uphill struggle from that point.
Warrington did a good job of exposing Farrimond who had a very tough night that he'll learn from. With French and Keighran out and Nsemba/Farrimond inexperienced we were very vulnerable there.
The injury to O'Neill is rough news - looks like it's Leeming and Forber going forward. We'll have to see if we can scrape enough wins to stay in the top 2 fight before Field and French come back but ultimately it's all about timing and who gets into the playoffs with the fittest squad and in the best form.
Masters of our own downfall again (as we were last week), all Wire tries down to Wigan mistakes, either directly or the subsequent set:
Byrne drops ball first run - Wire Try. Eckersley fails to catch bomb and hits it for drop out - Wire Try. Interception pass x 2 - Wire Tries. Junior drops play the ball - Wire Try.
All Hull FC tries came off our errors last week and we got punished.

We didnt play our game tonight from minute one was a replica of Hull FC away but I won’t loose faith think we string a few home wins we’ll sail through until we get players back. Name a pack that would win with first choice centre, Fb and stand off and 2nd choice hooker out (also lost our first choice) was weird around the 65 min mark the wire fans were quiet (even though they’d won) and were out sang by the home fans

Lack of resilience in the team at the minute when almost every error is punished. It’s ok saying Farrimond will learn, he won’t. He’s going to be a target his entire career because of his size so it’s down to those round him to do a job in defence because he won’t be in the side for his defensive efforts. I’m disappointed we don’t seem to trust him to do anything with the ball though. Pointless playing him if we don’t allow him to showcase what he’s shown to get to this level.

I said to my missus that we’d lose after watching the teams warm up. Warrington look slick working through their drills . We dropped the ball at least four times just doing simple up and down unopposed passing drills . Byrne was one of the culprits who dropped the ball and look how he started the game . Some of the warm up passing and tip ons were awful , we were just going through the motions . Warrington looked deadly serious . Fail to prepare , prepare to fail
Fickle fans come out when we loose. Not playing our best atm but can turn it around and there has been plenty of times when we’ve turned it around. Pretty sure Warrington were favourites to win the Cc final as well. Still plenty you time to the play offs
We're having one of those spells that we have and we'll be ok. The injury to O'Neill is the most concerning aspect of tonight. Take that away and I'm not worried in the slightest about how the rest of the season plays out. This wobble will bring everyone right back down to earth and will sharpen the focus and once we play through it, we will benefit from it IMO and I back us to go and finish the season on a high.
It’s so easy for everyone to overreact to that performance. It was poor, but there were a few moments which just didn’t quite go our way, the first interception in particular. We’ll be fine, trust Peet to make sure this is only a dip.
Great night for Wire, played really well and no doubt given them a massive confidence boost for the rest of the season after Wembley. Lindop looks a very bright prospect.
Couple of worrying signs from some players. Byrne again, first play of the game, not good enough. Sam Walters looks a completely different player. Soft defence, sloppy and poor skill. Felt for Farrimond tonight, probably needs taking out the firing line for a game or two now just to give him a break. Hopefully Brads injury isn’t as bad as sounds/looked. Fingers crossed for him.
First and foremost let’s congratulate Wire they were excellent tonight, two of our old boys were outstanding- Williams and Powell. Our performance fell well short of what is expected however, no pots were handed out. We need to get back to basics and the coaching team need to earn their money and learn from their mistakes, selection and the game plan need to improve. I am confident that when it comes to the crunch we will be the team to beat.
