I get people saying it’s not an improvement, Hudds are crap etc. But even if you don’t want to call it improvement there’s a clear change in approach and a difference under Arthur. Especially defensively in a very short period of time.
I think he will mate, there is no excuse for leading with the none ball carrying forearm/elbow. There is no question that if Russell had stayed down he would have walked.
A slight improveme[fimg=][/fimg]nt tonight but still a long way off but it's pleasing to see Brad Arthur has made improvements in such a short period of time

We need to try keep BA for next season IMO. He’s got the high standards we need, you can tell he’s a seasoned NRL coach, and that’s rare in SL.
Interesting his comments about Frawley, who everyone bagged. “he’s an NRL standard player”
I was worried after the first half performance because all that intensity in defence is fine but not if you’re constantly making errors in attack but i thought we fixed a lot of that up in the second half.
I don't think we'll make the play-offs, but I do hope Arthur stays on. Somebody posted that he'd been offered assistant coach at the Knights next year, and that will be a temptation for him if true. That said, he does keep alluding to what he could do with a pre-season, so it's clearly in his thoughts.
Frawley was bagged by everyone because he was pretty poor most weeks and very average on others, hes got a remit under Arthur thats clearer with more responsibility, hes really benefitting from the change of coach. I hope Croft and ackers can find their groove too as they still look well short of what we hoped for. Momirovski i cant see ever getting to where we need himhes just so sloppy, theres no redeeming quality how did he play for Roosters, Storm and Panthers?!
I dont think we will make the playofffs on the basis of last night, Huddersfield are poor and also very understrength. For us to get the wins required there would need to be a similar shift to our good ball attack as weve seen with the defensive intensity since BAa arrival as well as a continued improvement in discipline and consitency with concentration to end sets better and cut down the errors. He mentioned again that hes not against staying and i hope he does because hes uncomplicated the game and wants it played in the style thats always been the foundation to successful teams.

Agreed & if the first contact had been with the head I don't think Russell would have had any choice but to stay down. The first contact is with the chest but Lisone's arm momentum is upwards & then makes contact with the head, but not enough for him to stay down. Given Russell's head was already going backwards after the initial impact he probably felt very little as Lisone's arm goes upwards & across his head. It was a red; Lisone will be banned & I am ok with that. There are plenty of incidents that go unpunished initially.

Hiring any coach is a risk but Arthur is finally a coach with the pedigree who deserves to be backed with time and money. There are no guarantees in sport but you'll usually do better working on pedigree and past success. Rather than extremely risky decisions and gimmicks.
Agree with much of the above. Good second half performance against a poor team but a solid win is a solid win. Frawley looks much much better playing with structure and you can tell he's really liking Brad Arthur's coaching. Who knew a coach could make a big difference ey ??!! Momorovski is just really sloppy, makes a lot of errors, but looks short of confidence. Looks a poor signing at the moment you have to say. Newman looked better, but he's lost half a yard of pace imo, injuries have taken their toll but he might get back to something like yet, last night was promising.
Still a long way off a playoff team imo though, attacking wise we are still very very clunky, that will take Arthur time but he doesn't have it. Defensively I thought it was much much better, far more aggressive. We will be missing Lisone next week and that is a big blow against Salford.. we are already light up front.
