If the rumours are true about the 300k contract, there is no way he’s getting that anywhere else, that’s top level aus money never mind super league and he ain’t getting a gig in aus

Only place I've seen 300k mentioned is that daft fan account on twitter
I'd heard around 200k - which is Trueman's wage and a bit more. Obviously, could be a load of rubbish but to pry him away from Leigh it would have to be a decent package. He won't get an NRL gig in my opinion, unless the new franchise want him - but then they could probably approach players like Clifford, Hawkins etc
I'd heard that the package was higher than that given to Asiata, which is being reported as 220k/year. Not sure he's worth that sort of salary right now, but he likely will be in years 2 or 3 of his deal.

To be honest I'm not to bothered what we pay him, only 175k or so goes on the cap, if we can afford the extra I'm not bothered, shows where we are as a club compared to previous years.
One of the best scrum halfs in SL and non quota, still got plenty of years left too.

Only 100k on the cap isn’t it? Given he’s non quota?
So all about how much of the overall wage budget you feel he’s worth.
There’s also any legal/tribunal costs and maybe even a hefty fee for Leigh if it swings that way. As much as I’d have loved to have seen him in a Hull shirt I can’t help feel Catalans maybe have opened a Iestyn Harris can of worms and we don’t need that.
I can’t believe Beaumont’s not come out swinging yet. Either they’ve been advised they don’t have a leg to stand on or the opposite and their lawyers have told him to keep quiet not to influence any potential action. Why would they agree to a clause in his contract that allows him to join another SL club? Bizarre situation.

Two options that I can think of. 1) There is a standard NRL clause that is badly worded and taken advantage of, or 2) Leigh have simply messed up the contract, probably as a result of back and forth between them and Lam's agent.
I'd say the second option is most likely. But wouldn't completely rule out the first.
