If that's the case I'll need to slap my contact with a herring, he isn't usually too far wrong and had told me a deal was done with Sailor and not far off on Lafai but such is life and we are where we are.
However if we can indeed temp Lam to sign then that would more than temper Sailor going elsewhere, plus leave still leave us with 2 quota spots.
All is not lost as there is still a hell of a long way to go before the start of the 2025 season, think Cartwright Snr will certainly have a big impact on us regardless and hopefully make use of the remaining quota spots with some quality.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
It is becoming increasingly tiring watching us miss out on key targets, Lam will be a brutal one.
On the bright side, we have (currently) one of the young SL players of the year in Moy, a lot of pressure on young shoulders but he's progressing and making a bold statement of being our starting Full Back for 2025 so far.
A spine of Moy, Lam, Abdul, Cust and Asiata would have me thinking top 6 is on the cards.

Fair enough, big blow. I was sure if we got him he’d be playing 6 and it looks like that’s maybe playing out now. It’d Trueman is moving on it means we are now back into the notoriously hard market for a quality half we not many realistic options available.

If we don't get Sailor, I'd forget FB, stick with what we have. Use the two quota spots on a halfback (presuming we don't sign Lam) and a centre. If we get Lam another forward.
Just feels like a move by Lam like his Dad, get more money from Lam, buy can Leigh match Hulls offer, suprised he isn't already a marquee player.
Not sure why Catalans would move for him with Keary signed and Fages, also have Rouge who is a good player.

If we keep Walker then I'll be satisfied with that. I'm not Walker's biggest fan but he's steady and reliable and keeping him would free up a quota place. Moy is promising but he's not ready to be first choice next season in my opinion. Litten can also play there but going forward I think centre will be his favoured position. Attacking wise I thought he impressed last week. Of course all this will be immaterial if Walker leaves which is likely then we'll need a new FB.

Think Walker is too expensive to be a back up, I'd go with Moy, with Litten and Hardraker as backups.
Give Moy the number 1 shirt, sign Lam or halfack to replace Trueman, who I can't see being here next year.

Added bonus Lam is off quota. wasn't bothered about Sailor, especially as a marquee player. If we can recruit a reputable Strength and Conditioning trainer, Moy could be sensational next season
